This is our go to Japanese restaurant. My husband loves the sushi rolls and I'm a Tempura fan.
Love the white peach Saki.

Very laid back atmosphere. Waiter was attentive and funny. We had the boat for two and the sashimi were amazing.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SPOT!!! Even if I didn’t live in the neighborhood, this would be my neighborhood spot! I would drive any amount of time to get here! Seriously. Not only is the food excellent- EXTREMELY fresh fish, the cuts are EXPERT, the staff treats you like family! Probably because they are family. I am here at least 2 times a week, if not more! The happy hour specials are awesome & the variety of dishes offered means you never get bored. Sometimes it’s bento box lunch, sometimes it’s hand rolls, sometimes it’s Chef’s choice! They have a full bar as well as a great beer and wine selection. Every night is a different special, both food and wine. When I first started coming here, I was most impressed by their cold sake selection, but all of their menu has impressed me. This will be my sushi spot for as long as they decide to stay in Austin! Which I think will be for a very long while since the owners are deeply rooted in the community here. I can’t say enough good things about this place! Come see for yourself!

I used to love this place, but something has changed. My last few visits have been not so good. It's as if the cooler for the fish isn't working like it used to. My fish arrived at room temperature and smelled fishy. In fact, the entire restaurant has smelled fishy on my last few visits. Not what you want to smell when you're buying fish to cook, much less when ordering fish to be eaten raw.
It seems maybe there has been a change in management within the last year or two that has led to a lower quality experience. There seems to be a lack of pride, which was once there. The dining area has cob webs in the corners of the booths and doesn't seem clean. This is a shame because it used to be so good. I expect Nanami will be going out of business soon if things don't change. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

Showed up for my Grubhub order, after the time. I was told to wait longer and then after 15 mins I was told they don’t do Grubhub at all and to deal with them to cancel.
Wasted over an hour of my time just because they don’t care and won’t remove themselves from the app.
Zero stars!

One of the most under rated sushi spots - great quality and good service. Would recommend trying

Amazing sushi.
The garlic oil they use on some of the rolls is the most amazing sauce of all time.

I’m one of three people
In there for lunch today. The waitress was great and sat me at the sushi bar and told me to give the chef my order when ready. I did and he Didn’t take it after 15 minutes. Look if your station isn’t ready then don’t open so early. Idk I was shocked, I’m here for landlocked fish, can you simply serve the one person at your sushi bar. I had to leave since he was clearly not flying to serve me in any kind of timely manner and I had to run across the street for some crappy corndogs since I had no time for anything else at that point. Thanks for a waste of my lunch hour.

Not the best sushi especially given the price you pay. Rolls we ordered (spicy tuna, and oceans 7) were very sweet and chemically tasting.

Great spot for sushi! I had both the crunchy roll and the spicy tuna and both were amazing. Also the kitchen was willing to accommodate my non pork preference to one of their house special dishes, and made it with chicken!
The service was spectacular and the atmosphere was top tier.
