$12 for a 12oz beer is insane. This use to be one of my favorite places to catch a show and now I feel like I get screwed everytime I come here. Wanna wait in line for 45 minutes for a disgusting bathroom that’s falling apart? They got you covered.

This on top of getting rid of all the good food trucks and cutting down every tree that added to the atmosphere.

***update*** owner replied saying this was incorrect. Montucky’s was sold in a 12oz can for $12ea. I’ve got the receipt.

Worst margarita I've had in awhile.
The ratios were way off & he replaced orange juice with lemon juice concentrate.
The unpleasant bartender was cringey to speak to, and was obviously angry.
Uncomfortable chairs.
The entire experience was bad.
closed 2 hrs earlier than it said online.
Won't be going back.

One of the first places I visited when I first moved to Austin. I love the atmosphere & music. I’ve been here for funk bands, local bands, “scream along” karaoke, Selena tribute bands, V-Day & psych fest & various vintage or artists markets. I’ve had some awesome memories here & it’s also a cool place to bring people from out of town.

When there are large events PARKING is very LIMITED so PLAN AHEAD… I parked across the street at torchy’s tacos once for about 15 min & when I went back to move my car it was already towed. Don’t make my mistake my car was in the tow lot for about 10 min before I picked it up & it cost $250 lol

I love the Austin Rotisserie food truck. My favorite is the whole birds with the potatoes (great for sharing) & there Sammy’s

I’m not sure if it’s still there but the air stream trailer called “Plant Porn” with all 3D printed pots & plants does not disappoint and I have a few!

Showed up at Far Out Lounge at 6:52 pm thinking they’d be open by 6 PM, which seems standard for any venue where the ticket says ‘show starts at 7 PM.’ At the very least, you expect the bar to be open. But nope—doors didn’t open until 7, and the headliner (Sparta) I came to see wouldn’t even start until 10:30 PM - which was misleading when I bought tickets online. So we’re just trying to be cool about it, arriving a few minutes early, figuring we’d get wristbands and let my girlfriend use the restroom.

When I asked the door lady if she could quickly use the restroom, she actually told us to ‘go across the street to Torchy’s Tacos.’ Are you kidding me? We’re paying customers, and by the time we’d walk there and back, they’d already be open.

Then this absolute troll of a door guy jumps in, out of nowhere, with a smarmy, ‘Does she have a pacifier?’ Like…what the hell does that even mean? And what does one thing have to do with the other? Maybe this guy just hates his life, and treating people poorly is how he gets through his shift.

Honestly, it killed any vibe we had about the night. After that absurd encounter, we decided to just leave and come back at 10:30 PM when the band was actually supposed to start. Far Out Lounge, get it together. If your staff’s going to treat people like this, maybe they’re the ones who need a ‘pacifier.’ A little respect goes a long way.

My son and I attended a concert at this venue this weekend. I had never been here before, but this place was fantastic. Everyone who worked here was friendly, there was lots of space for the event, the portable bathrooms were clean and easy to use and they had plenty available so you didn’t have to wait very long. We were able to be close to the stage, and enjoyed the show thoroughly because of the intimacy of the venue. They had two bars, and I never waited more than a few minutes for a drink. And, the drinks were very reasonable in price. I look forward to coming back here for more events in the future, and have saved it as one of my favorite places.

I didn’t eat food, and I purchased no drinks. But, I did see TYCHO and they were amazing. Several staff members helped me gain access to the VIP area, which was a bonus. Great crowd, too. However, the is south south south Austin, so you could probably find lodging in San Marcos and make the short drive to Slaughter Lane.

Had a religious experience here witnessing Gang of Four + Slift + Jesus Lizard. Absolute phenomenally Austin venue. Stages are HYPE. Couldn't recommend enough.
