Let's start with the owners- They are the nicest most humble people. I really appreciated that they came over and spent time with our table before we left. The food was excellent!! The waygu steak was so tender and delicious. The other five people in our party throughly enjoyed the burger and the chicken. Drinks were on point and they do give generous pours. This was my husband's and my second time eating here. We definitely will come again. thanks
We had a wonderful dinner at Nightcap - some staff weren't able to show up but head chef and bartender took care of us all evening! The lavender cocktail was perfect. The Gnocchi was our fav. Thank you for your great service and meal!
Nightcap is the perfect late-night dining spot — classy, cozy, and full of personality. The desserts are incredible, but honestly, every dish I’ve had here has been excellent. It’s the kind of place where you can relax over cocktails and great conversation. A hidden gem for anyone who loves good food and ambiance.

Had a reservation for a mid week early dinner, even though I didn’t need it.
Immediately greeted by the host and bartender. They were interested in me, my company, if we had been here before, etc. Highly personalized service. Made me feel very welcome and immediately separated them from other places.
Cocktail menu is cheeky and creative, and the wine menu has variety and sophistication where necessary.
Menu was great - we focused on the sea food and the octopus and market fish absolutely slapped. The appetizer Brussels sprouts were great - not too much soy and not over cooked.
The desert menu was limited and they focused on cake but the chocolate was great. Probably could have held half the marshmallow but it was easy enough to leave it on the plate. It was delicious.
The host caters properly to the mix in the room and had a great playlist that kept me there long after dinner was over.
I highly recommend this place for happy hour, dinner, and well - a night cap.

Woah.
I’ve left my share of reviews but this place? It deserves the HIGHEST praise. Our visit was literal perfection. We were taken care of so well by Christin. The experience was unforgettable and we will be back. If you are reading this review and haven’t been here… go now. You’ll cherish the moment for the rest of your life. 👏

First off the food was amazing! However we were a party of 11 with a reservation for 7pm on a Friday and they were already out of steak and some wines and other menu items so early in the weekend which is strange! Our waiter was a new employee and probably should not have been given such a large table on his second day! He tried his best with us being frustrated. We were never offered a second drink. The bartender was also new. Bad management but delicious!
What a GEM! I came here because traffic was bad, and HH lasts till 7pm. Thank you universe! I like to support small businesses, but there is typically a cost: less selection, lower quality or a different vibe. Not here! I was warmly welcomed, and genuinely felt that it was real. Add to that quality award winning seasonal food from a named Chef, AND great drinks. BOOM drop the mic!

I attended an inside dinner party with 15 friends and was so impressed. I met every single person working the front of the house, including the owner, Kristin. The food was excellent and the staff was warm, knowledgeable and friendly. I would describe the atmosphere/vibe as Austin chic, lovely and inviting. The craft cocktails and entire dinner menu are outstanding. The last time I visited Nightcap I sat outside and that was also an amazing experience it was in the evening and very romantic sitting under the trees and string lights.
The best restaurant/ bar. Even the water is delicious!

Excellent date night option. Loved the Brussel sprouts and burrata. Very pretty and cozy small dining area w/great ambience and great food.
Nightcap was such a letdown. The owner, Christin, kept interrupting and being downright invasive the whole time. Totally ruined the vibe and my night. A bar should be a place to relax, not to deal with unprofessional behavior from its own owner. Definitely not the experience I expected or would return for.

I live in Austin and dined at Night Cap for the first time. The service was decent, atmosphere was nice/comfortable. Drinks may be their forte but they do not offer upfront that Happy Hour is only if seated at the bar. The bigger disappointment is the food — this is where I have mixed reviews and Night Cap fell short. As an appetizer, we tried the Crispy Polenta - I would recommend this dish. It was light but very flavorful and the polenta was fluffy yet crispy. My husband ordered the octopus, highly recommend by the waitress. The portion was a bit small and the octopus was barely present - small tips of octopus legs and no flavor. Being a huge fan of octopus, my husband felt the dish was a major disappointment. I ordered the popular burger, which I must say was quite good. Good ratio of quality beef to bun and simple, not overdone with toppings and condiments. However, the fries were horrific - oily and limp, there wasn’t a crisp potato in the ample side serving. The waitress returned and asked if we wanted to take the fries home - only one was missing from what was served. We stated how terrible, greasy and unappealing the fries were. She responded that “they are twice fried which gives them a different texture.” We’ve had tried fried fries before and the sete did not measure up; they were barely warm and soaked in not hot enough oil. The waitress showed no regard for our feedback or satisfaction. She quickly returned with the full priced $90 bill. I am doubtful that we will return to this neighborhood spot.

I celebrated a birthday with 14 people at Nightcap. From the first contact, the owner, Christin, was charming and welcoming, and did her best to set up the perfect room complete with balloons and specialized menus. She went out of her way to make my night special... all without me requesting any of it. The food prepared for such a large group came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious... everything off of the special menu was well prepared & tasty. My friend seated next to me said this was the best meal she had had in town!! Everyone was happy. Thank you, Christin, for an amazing experience. We will definitely be back!! Don't hesitate to book here.
Service was great. Food was really outstanding. Surprisingly great vegetarian options for my wife. We’ll be back!!
