Carrot tostada and migas were OUTSTANDING!! Spicy fresh w a little crema. Perfect. They also have the best paletas, definitely try the strawberry chamoy ? i have celiac so their 99% gluten free and I’m definitely making this one of my regular stops.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendly, even for celiac. Also dairy free options and tons of veg/vegan. You’ll feel good after eating here.

We had the best time and the food was delicious, unexpected and beautifully presented. The team was super nice and knowledgeable about each thing we ordered. We left planning our next visit.Favorites:Golden beet saladMushroom empanadaDuck carnitas and cauliflower tacosCarrot tostada
The duck birria tacos absolutely blew my mind. When you order it you wonder if someone could pull such an ambitious idea off. Then you take a bite and find out that these folks at Nixta did it! Honestly, every single item we ordered was delicious and felt like it was made with fresh ingredients and love. We also got to chat with the couple who owns the place. They were so kind and welcoming. Thanks for a great experience, friends!

You order at a kiosk by the entry and seat yourselves at any of the large picnic tables - some tables are under a tent/canopy while most are just in the open next to a little vegetable garden.Food: the chips and dip/ avocado créma were OK. But the tacos/tostadas were amazing! I wish I had paid attention to the tortilla when ordering and will ask for soft tortilla instead of the hard/shell ones next time. The beet taco was incredibly fresh with light and creamy avocado créma and the lime zest on top was ??. The carrot taco was delicious - tender, caramelized carrot ribbons with tasty chili oil and dill leaves (it was super oily but not greasy, has the potential to be super messy).Menu: vast menu with lots of veggie choices, many meat options (no chicken though).Service: polite and adequately timely, they were super nice to store a birthday cake we had brought with us in their fridge and even brought it out with a lit candle plus plates.Seating: there was only outdoor seating when we visited last week, so it was all dog friendly! There are no heaters so can feel quite chilly on a cold night.
our group was extremely disappointed in our mealWe paid hundreds dollars for this meal and wine. This is the most expensive meal we’ve ever eatenFirst off the wine can be found for well under $20 a bottle. The food was good but not better than any other Mexican spot to justify the extreme price.Too add insult to injury a fine print extra fee inflates the price even more. based on the last point alone I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy

You park on the street and eat in a tent. The floor is filled with wood chips and some spots are wet and muddy. Then the food. They are interesting flavors but very, very greasy. They are very expensive for the small portions of each plate. Not much service because most is self serviced. But we tipped20% ahead when ordering.

To say this place is a dream would be an understatement. Not only are the tacos made with so much love and care, but they are also unique, thought out, and executed with an amount of detail I wish I could absorb through consumption so I could remember where I put anything or what my plans are for the weekend. On top of all that they had to go and be the loveliest, most generous people as well! They have changed my taco life and the community around them for the better. Please do yourself a favor and go here. You’ll somehow leave lighter despite being so full of their delicious creations. Thank you Nixta!
The duck carnitas and golden beet salad are the standout dishes. Wash that down with some spicy tropical tepache—refreshing! If you sit outside, you can look at the cute vegetable garden while enjoying the food. The carnitas are extremely oily from the confit duck, but the oil’s flavorful and doesn’t come across as greasy. Make sure to eat it over the plate as it’ll drip oil with each bite. The golden beet salad presented an unfamiliar flavor combination that worked well.In contrast, the tuna tostada felt overbearing and one-dimensional: too much salt, too much lime, and the sum of avocado and aioli felt too heavy. It was a letdown after the exceptional carnitas. Similarly, the beet tostada was nice but paled in comparison to the golden beet salad.

Food was lackluster. The portions were so small and not worth the high prices. Also they ask you to tip before getting your food or service.

Food: Food was okay, but nothing I would come back for. The bean and cheese taco and the quesadilla were really bland but some others like the cauliflower, enchilada potosina, and duck carnitas tacos were nice.Service: There were exactly 30 ppl there on this particular Sunday. 10 of them had their food already. Somehow, it took 40 mins to get our food! 40 mins for tacos. Adding in that the staff is pompous and unwelcoming.I'd skip this place. Too many good spots in Austin.
Incredible a must have!!!
