I’ve been going to Opa regularly for a while now, and I can so proudly say this cafe has the best coffee, matcha, food, staff, music, and seating out of all the cafes in Austin. Everyone is so nice and approachable, they really care about you having a good experience whether that’s with wine or even a macaroon! Lots of parking and perfectly tucked away even though it’s on a busy street. The outside has so much seating with plenty of shade.

Worst Greek food I've ever had. I ordered the Mousaka - it was burned and tasted like it had been reheated 4 days in a row. My friend ordered the briam - the veggies tasted as though they were past their 'use by' date. The frappe was decent. Called the restaurant to speak with the owner 3x. The staff was nice and helpful. I emailed the owner to professionally discuss my concerns with the owner - she didn't even bother to respond to me!! No email, no phone call...nothing! I will never return to opa. With so many other options I recommend anywhere else.

Honestly one of the most complete cafes in town. From the welcoming service, tasty food and good coffee/drinks it never fails to deliver.

It was crowded and parking is tricky but it's the best feta I've ever had.

One of my favorite spots! Been plenty of times for brunch, good coffee and breakfast. Croissant sandwich and yogurt bowl are my go-to. Food service is a little slow, but I usually don’t mind. I sit outside and have never had a problem finding a table.

I love this place, fresh food and plenty of seating. I love to sit outside, under the big tree. There is a good amount of shade, soft music and beautiful plants all around. I came here today for a Greek Salad. Its been on my mind for months. I was so excited when I saw it came with 2 Dolmas. I love 'em!

This place is such an Austin staple. The food and coffee is amazing. It's a great place to WFH with free wifi for the customers.

I liked this restaurant until I spoke with ex employees and heard that they treat workers poorly. It’s disheartening to hear that the bartenders do not receive all of their tips. Nobody is allowed to see payroll and see where their money is going. Yikes! I hope the labor board gets involved. I cannot support this business in good faith. I will tell others to stay away from this restaurant.

Highly recommend the Greek salad! Opa is a neighborhood wine bar gem with friendly staff and a great place to lounge for hours (indoor or on their lovely patio).

After standing in line for 20 minutes when I only had 35 minutes to grab a bite & a drip coffee, I left without ordering. I was looking forward to their delicious Greek omelette, but it was not going happen unless I had at least an hour to wait. It was a Sunday morning with a line of at least 10 people which barely slimmed down because there was no one helping the barista. He had to ring up all of the orders and turn around and make all the drinks. I was so impressed by the time I finally got to the counter I asked his name. Santiago was hustling so efficiently and was incredibly friendly to everyone. I’m almost appalled at the establishment for being so clearly understaffed on a busy Sunday morning. They needed one person ringing up sales and another person just on barista/drinks. When I tried to order an omelette, I found out that it would take at least another 30 minutes. Essentially between standing in line and receiving my food it would’ve been 50 minutes. Weekends on South Lamar are very busy, especially in the mornings. It astounds me that a busy café would only have what appeared to be one barista, one cook and a busser for the entire shift. I wish I had more cash on me to tip this amazing worker. I hope they double his pay because I’ve rarely seen someone hustle that hard. No café should push their employees to the brink and expect their customers to stand in line for 20 minutes to place their order.
Furthermore, I don’t know if their AC is broken or if they just turned it off at the first cold snap but it’s very hot inside, particularly when the kitchen is open. They have tons of windows and only the front door propped open. It was so uncomfortably warm inside that all the patrons were sitting outdoors.

I have been patronizing this establishment for 10 years and was incredibly disappointed by my recent visit. They are no longer near the top of my list for cafés in my neighborhood.
