Having grown up in the PNW on 24th Ave in Portland, I was thrilled to find one of our favorite breakfast spots. The first owner, for whatever reason had a tough go of it! When I saw breakfast tacos on the Original menu I knew we were in trouble! The new owner however, brought this place back to its Original glory! The 49ers, the Apple, the meat, the pancakes, very well done! This is what a successful franchise looks like! Thank you!
You know how it is when a restaurant goes from really good food to just, well, food. This restaurant used to be a treat for us. This time I ordered scrambled eggs, toast, and some sausage. Just a simple breakfast. I got rubbery scrambled eggs, unbuttered, toast, and acceptable sausages. All served at room temperature. It was food, it was what I ordered, but it wasn’t good food.
It’s become mediocre.

We structure our travels around Original Pancake House locations. It’s just that good. We don’t have an Original Pancake House in Houston (despite me writing corporate a few times) but hope to one day soon.
The Parmer Lane location is good, but isn’t like the locations in Westerville, OH, or Walker Brothers in Chicago. Service was on point with Giovanni. He took great eat care of us.
My husband got his typical Dutch Baby, my son,...
