Disappointing breakfast.
Very thickly sliced bacon and the sauces/ jams/butter were all in plastic containers which wasn’t very appetizing. No ambience.

Moven Bird is such a cozy spot, especially in colder weather. The staff is incredibly sweet and welcoming, which immediately sets the tone. The baked potato soup and the whipped beer cheese puffs are to die for—rich, comforting, and exactly what you want on a chilly day.

Everything we tried was great overall, though I will say the peppermint hot chocolate tasted a bit off and felt pricey for the size and quality. That said, it didn’t take away from an otherwise really lovely experience. I’d absolutely come back for the food and the warm atmosphere.

We’ve been to this place twice and each time is amazing. Presentation is everything and their kitchen goes above and beyond to plate it pretty. For two people it usually comes out 50-70$ so it is a little pricey for two coffees, a pastry, a sandwich, and another dish. I’ve come to expect that but it’s the experience. Whether you eat inside or outside - it’s a nice spot of have a quiet brunch and enjoy spending time with your significant other. :)

Very nice staff, clean, always friendly. Good selection of food and drink, coffee is always fresh. Baked goods are very good, and good selection. Nice for seasonal wants and great atmosphere. Good place for socializing, working, or meeting up with a friend.

Super annoying place to go to. It’s cute inside and the coffee was good, but I absolutely hate having to order things online. You have to go through all these extra steps, type in credit card info, the website glitches, you have to order through one phone if eating with multiple people on the same ticket, etc. just a super annoying process. This isn’t even to mention the overpriced food. Why is a literal sandwich twenty dollars? And when I received the sandwich, there was a singular piece of lettuce, one tomato, and a few pieces of bacon. That thing would probably cost $2 to make because it had no ingredients on it. The bread was super limp too so the sandwich fell apart. It was so disappointing and it just blew my mind how expensive this place was. I guess that’s Austin for you though? Maybe it’s just ovenbird. Either way I’m leaving this place annoyed. The service at the register was nice though.

Lovely neighborhood spot with great natural light. Highly recommend their scratch kitchen menu.

Do NOT get the french toast!!!

The french toast used to be my favorite thing to order from Ovenbird. However, that changed when their previous chef left. Now, it’s the worst thing in the menu.

I’ve had three different instances now where the french toast has been messed up. Once it was delivered cold. That day the staff apologized and made me a new one. They explained that a chef left the team and a new chef was making them. The next time, it was raw/undercooked with a weird consistency. The third time it took 30 minutes for the french toast to be made. That’s half an hour of me waiting for something that usually takes less than ten minutes. It was so long, I finished my coffee. They didn’t even apologize or say anything for the wait. It was very unprofessional.

Anyway, long story short, don’t order the french toast.

We stopped for breakfast and it was delicious! Got breakfast sandwiches served on the most amazing Bavarian Croissant (like a pretzel and a croissant had a baby)! Will definitely go back again!

Guiness vanilla latte was so good and breakfast sandwich with boursinsin and pesto was so yummy! We will definitely come back for their events, try more especially Turkish eggs!!! :)

Just got coffee - I had an almond milk latte and my husband had a cappuccino and we both found them bitter and had to add a form of sweetener. I work at a coffee shop where ours is much smoother and well rounded.
