Small place with little parking but great food! Spanish music played on speakers but not too loud.

We enjoy seeing the family workers in the early morning. Familiar with us and what we're going to order. So kind

It took me a decade of living in Austin to try this place. I always thought it was a front. Before the East Side became every condo developers’ wet dream, Papa Joe’s was merely a small Mexican joint, oddly placed in the city with even odder adjacent buildings.

Maybe it is a front but the food is delicious and not insanely over priced like every other god damn new hype taco truck. Come here. Pay your patronage to this unassuming papa Joe before it’s too late.

I’m so happy I finally decided to try Papa Joe’s for breakfast! The food was authentic and delicious and very reasonably priced. The cucumber Agua Fresca is really great too. Want me over with the various salsa choices!

Great place to stop for breakfast or lunch after a run near the trails. The tacos are delicious & so is their sweet tea.

Started working on Springdale a few months ago. Started coming here the same week for breakfast tacos. Still go almost every other day.

Tried the eggs ranchero—wasn't really to my liking. Could’ve used more salsa, the potatoes were a bit cold, and the beans were just okay. Didn't care for the store-bought tortillas. On the bright side, the coffee was solid, and the service was warm and friendly.

Ate the food too fast to take a picture, that’s how good it was! It’s a small hole in the wall and hidden off the train tracks, but worth the stop. I got breakfast tacos here and LOVED that they had machacado, which is so rare to find now! I wish the meat was cooked more to make it tougher, but that’s my preference. I also got smoked sausage and egg and chorizo and egg. I thought everything was very good, and the employees were all very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back!
