Nice overall experience! We ate on the upstairs patio and Maddie was our server. No complaints, everything was great!

This place is a must for me and my husband anytime we're in Austin. We were a little sad after we learned they removed from the menú the black sesame coffee because we loved it, but the Earl Grey cold brew was perfect as usual 🤍🤍 we love you paperboy

The food was outstanding but our service was terrible. We were a party of 8 which means we received an automatic 20% gratuity on our bill and we definitely felt like the waitress knew this and it meant she was not really paying attention to our table. We received eye rolls and all of our guests felt as if she didn't want to be serving us. We were on the rooftop and were constantly swatting away bigs and had birds continuously around us and flying around us.

Not good

There are better brunch spots in Austin. I don’t get the hype— the chicken was overcooked and burnt, the pancake was dense like a thick muffin, and the bacon was dripping with grease. The ambiance is nice for cocktails, but the service struggles with large parties.

Cutie hipster place with okay breakfast. It’s more so about the vibes I guess? They give blankets if you sit outside and there’s a chill. Beverages and biscuits are good.

Great food but they need to work out their online ordering system. The window gets annoyed when you keep checking on your order but their online ordering system doesn’t notify you when it’s actually ready. Please Paperboy, I want my delicious pancake warm, not sitting for 20 minutes because I don’t want to bother the window again.

Won’t be back. Food was good, but pales in comparison to other brunch spots in ATX. But what really upset me was the way my group was treated from the very first interactions with the front of house.

We got there about 5 minutes before they opened on Sunday. The kids in my group got confused and thought maybe there were already diners inside, so we opened the door to check. The host said they weren’t open yet, so we went back outside. Then, they locked the door behind us like we’re a bunch of brainless thugs who don’t follow directions. Then, I heard one of the staff loud and clear through the door saying to a coworker, “There’s a sign! Read it!” Not impressed from my first minute of interaction with your staff.

When they opened, we were the very first guests to enter. Not a seat filled in the restaurant. When I told them we had five, they immediately took us to the outside, upstairs patio (weather was 36° and very windy). They didn’t even **ask** if we were okay to sit outside. Don’t know why we, as the very first diners in this place, couldn’t sit at the end booth inside, where I know full well we could’ve sat five without extra chairs. Insulting that they didn’t even ask—I got the impression they wanted to put us as far away from the other diners as possible. I would love to believe this was a lapse in judgment on their part, but another part of me wonders if they saw the black and Latina folks in my group and wanted us out of sight immediately.

The server who actually took care of our table did an excellent job, as did the couple of runners who brought our plates. But what a blunder on your front of house for putting a bad taste in my mouth from the very first minutes of interaction.

Easily one of the least hospitable spots I’ve been to in Austin. I’ve worked restaurant jobs and I know how hard this gig is, but I also know your front of house did a terrible job at welcoming your very first diners of the day.

This place had a happening crowd and a pretty child- friendly staff . We got there by chance, since it started raining , and me and my one year old needed a shelter . We were accommodated within 15 minutes despite being a rush hour . We got a granola bowl and an avocado toastada- both were great . My little one enjoyed interacting with the friendly crowd as well as the staff .

Vegetarian options: There were a few vegetarian options , and they tasted great .

Kid-friendliness: They had a pretty compact high chair which was great . The person at the front desk and the waiter were both very friendly and accommodative .

my boyfriend and I got brunch here and it was incredible! definitely worth the hype in my opinion. we loved everything we got and left feeling painfully full — The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because we originally had a reservation on the tuesday it snowed which they cancelled; when following up i received an email asking if i wanted to reschedule, only to recieve a text shortly after asking the same thing, to which we rescheduled for the next day. when i woke up to get ready for our presumed reservation i received another email, asking what time would work for me to reschedule when I had already rescheduled over text, to which she said was a mistake and asked again what date would work for me, frustrating but i replied asking for a different date, again, and then she just never responded to me. the only reason we got to come was because my boyfriend made a new reservation for an opening he saw on monday. if it weren’t for him she would have just never responded and we probably wouldn’t have gone at all. really annoying!

I ordered the steak and eggs brunch Togo. I wish I would have found another brunch spot with a lesser wait time( wait time 90min). The best thing on this plate was the tossed greens. My steak was more fat than meat. I asked for cheese eggs I think they forgot the cheese. Potatoes were just potato wedges. For the $28 price this plate was definitely not worth that price. I’ve gotten a better steak and eggs at Dennys for half the price.

Food was great! I had the migas and as a vegetarian, it’s a great dish. Service was great!
Only issue was the outdoor seating early in the morning. Heaters weren’t uniformly placed. But nevertheless great food!!

I’ve been a regular customer at Paperboy for 2–3 years, and it has always been one of my favorite places for breakfast and brunch. The food, ambience, and staff have consistently been excellent, making it a standout spot in the city.

In the past, the front desk reception, managed by a team of ladies, always recognized us as loyal customers and went above and beyond to provide a welcoming experience. They ensured we were seated quickly, often with minimal waiting time, and always made us feel valued.

However, we’ve noticed a recent shift in the behavior at the front desk. It appears that the previous reception team has been replaced by a male receptionist who does not seem to follow the same customer loyalty practices. On multiple visits, despite the availability of seats, we were told there would be a 30–45 minute wait and were instead seated at the bar. This has happened repeatedly, with no acknowledgment of our loyalty or efforts to accommodate us better.

While we love Paperboy and will continue to appreciate the quality of food and the warm atmosphere, we hope the management can address this issue. Recognizing and valuing long-time loyal customers is a hallmark of excellent hospitality, and we would love to see this aspect improved so that Paperboy remains the amazing place we’ve always cherished.
