$8 for a barely cold can of Shiner beer, $11 for a Mexican margarita, mostly no taste and no hint of alcohol and filled 3/4 of the glass. We were there as off duty Austin Firefighters which the bar offered to give us 20% off drinks that we never received. We left a short later and went a half a mile south down the road to the South Austin beer garden and had a great time and better drinks. First time and last time!

Menchaca Sports Bar is always a great spot, but Sylvia truly makes the place shine. She’s attentive, friendly, and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome. Her drinks are gooood, and she brings such a positive vibe to the bar. She recommended rumble shots and it was so good!!! We came during karaoke night, and it was so much fun! Highly recommend stopping by when Sylvia’s behind the bar!

Went here last night (Friday) and it was busy. My friend and I went to the bar to order drinks — only one seat was open, so she sat, and I stood close behind her. The woman next to her was clearly over-served and took issue with my proximity, despite the fact that I never touched or brushed against her.
She suddenly stood up and became confrontational. I immediately flagged down the bartender, thinking that was the responsible thing to do. Instead, a man who seemed to be the manager approached and told us to “go away.” When I tried to explain, I was dismissed and told, “She’s drunk, it’s best if you leave her alone.”
So… the intoxicated, aggressive customer was protected, while sober, paying customers were told to move along. The priorities were completely backwards, the professionalism nonexistent, and the customer service abysmal. I won’t be returning — and based on how they handled this, I doubt they care.

I was turned away because my service dog was not allowed inside “after 8”. I showed additionally identification not legally required of meij good faith. I was met with both excuses “the DJ is playing it’s an insurance liability” and “we’ve had two dogs bite people”. The doorman did offer to “hold him for 30-40 minutes”. Illegal and insane. I’m not blaming the doorman for their decisions. I assume management is encouraging illegal business practices or at the very least discrimination.
