We had our small wedding dinner here, and everything was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere and setup was beautiful, warm, and cozy without feeling too tight for our group. The cocktails were excellent with a great bar selection, and the food and service were fabulous. The courses were served family-style, allowing us & our guests to try everything on the menu with good portion sizes and each course was timed well. We have enjoyed each meal we've had at Pecan Square and would recommend them for a yummy splurge or celebration meal!

Food was dry which is usually not the case. Seemed like they couldn't handle the hokiday crowd.
We enjoyed our second dining experience at Pecan Square. Service was attentive and knowledgeable regarding gluten and egg free needs. The food was delicious as were the cocktails. The restaurant is beautiful but it was very noisy in the center of the restaurant and difficult for our 4 diners to hear one another. Did not have that experience before when seated closer to the kitchen at a 5 top. Lighting was very low as well. But a terrific experience and we will be back!
Fantastic food in a beautiful setting, with great service. Easy menu to “graze” from. Great bar to sit at before dinner.
We had an excellent dinner out in Austin at Pecan Square Cafe. The food was very good, the cocktails and wine were great and the service was top notch. Our server, Leann, and the assistant manager, Sarah, were friendly, helpful and professional. It was a nice experience and we will return.
My partner and I went for our anniversary, and really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food. If you enjoy watching the kitchen in action, sit at the counter. It's stylish and entertaining, but still feels intimate. The service was prompt and showed interest in why we were celebrating. We even got a complimentary little dessert at the end. When it came to cocktails, their 50/50 martini had lovely citrus flavors that went perfectly with our meal. We started with the Blue Crab Salad and Fingerling Potato Pizza, which stood out against our entrees, the Sunchoke Ravioli and Texas Wagyu Short Rib. I enjoyed the flavors and creaminess of the sunchoke ravioli, but I wish there were more of them! As for the Short Rib, the flavor was nice, but it came out a bit dry/chewy with a broken bordelaise. In total, we will be back! Looking forward to revisiting the Blue Crab Salad and trying the Pork Schnitzel.
Some of the best service I’ve had in Austin! I tried 8 items from the menu - every single one was excellent. I liked being able to see into the kitchen.

Very loud today. Made it hard to have a conversation. Service was not great. Have had a much better experience here at dinner. So will stick to dinners here instead of brunch.
The drinks and menu options are fun and unique, and the service was excellent. We had one dessert that unexpectedly contained pecans, which was concerning since someone in our group has an allergy. The waiter handled it immediately and brought us a new dessert without pecans, as they had only been added afterward. We really appreciated the quick and thoughtful response as we had not mentioned the allergy!
Nick is the best host! He always makes us feel welcome and at home and is incredibly friendly and professional!

We recently moved to Austin, and Pecan Square quickly became one of our favorite spots — the food, drinks, and atmosphere are always fantastic. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was overshadowed by a very unpleasant interaction with the host. We arrived a bit early to have a drink at the bar; there were several open seats with no reserved signs or place settings. Despite that, the host abruptly told us to move, then changed her mind and said it was fine. It was confusing and set the wrong tone right away. When our table became available early, she pushed for us to sit down well before our 7:15 reservation, but we politely declined since we wanted to dine closer to our booked time. Then, exactly at 7:15—while the bartender was still finishing our drinks—she came over again with a noticeably rude attitude, insisting we move immediately. We explained that we were happy to go to the table as soon as our drinks were ready, but she continued to be short and dismissive. We completely understand that restaurants get busy, but there's no reason for that kind of attitude or poor communication. The rest of the staff and food were excellent, as always, but the host's behavior really took away from an otherwise great experience.
Old grease. The chicken fried steak was tough, and must have been cooked in the same oil as the fried liver. I honestly couldn’t tell by flavor which I was eating if not for the gristle.
Carrots were flavorless and overcooked to the point that they were barely holding their shape.
Mashed potatos and gravy were good. Deserts were average.
I first went soon after this restaurant opened and there was a line out the door.
It’s now not much more than a greasy spoon, an old one at that.

Pecan Square Cafe gives full on adobe western energy with a side of elegance. I got this recommendation from a guy at our hotel pool and he nailed it. Think laid back sophistication and plates that surprised me. I started with a crab salad. It was chunks of cold crab in a white sauce set over green beans. Then, my tile fish came swimming in a zesty white sauce that i perked up for. Our service was very friendly!

There is NO parking at this restaurant and I called and asked for help and the girl was so rude and unhelpful. How do you expect people to come here if they can’t park?
