I'm Haitian/Cuban Brooklynite and I've been looking for a place in Austin that will help with my Caribbean cravings for aLOOOOOOOOONG 6 years and WOW this place was definitely worth that wait. The flavors are layered, the meat is juicy and succulent the sauce is spectacular. The plantains and fries are fresh and crispy. You can tell that they care about the quality of their food. Now let's talk about presentation, just because they are food truck doesn't mean that they skimp on the visuals. I'm highly impressed and will definitely be back. So so so happy I found this gem ?

BEST MEAL EVER. Got the bandido piggy and it was so delicious and fresh. The arepa was perfectly soft and crispy. Also got the patacombo which was so so good. Guava juice went great with both of these. Highly recommend this place, I’ll be back ASAP!

It’s difficult to find Puerto Rican food in Austin, so I was extremely happy to discover Plantain Bar last year. I love their fatty lechon with tostones, and their “Sweet Monkey” platanos maduros. Today the owner went above and beyond—I forgot to request no avocado on an order, and he immediately made me another.Give these lovely folks your business!
