I have always loved and raved about Polvos but this location has gone down hill for the worst. My family and I walked in and there was absolutely no 1 in there. Something weird was going on with the waitress as she didn’t greet us or say a thing. She just stared at us until I finally say where should we sit?! Like hellooo!??! We sat down in the back kind of by the bar.It was extremely hot to the point we were all sweating so we asked the waitress to turn the air up. The margaritas which are always sooo good were sadly watered down(maybe because it usually get frozen instead of on the rocks). Food was fresh but not as tasty as usual. It’s clear that this location is not taken care of like the 2 downtown locations. Also my order was wrong which I didn’t notice until I got home because I had gotten a 2 go plate. Just really sad
This place is one of Austin's best kept secrets. Amazingly good food (the Fajitas al Guajillo are the best fajitas I've ever had) and good service. It's kind of off the beaten path, but worth the trip. I actually think it's better than the south location.
Looks like your normal run of the mill Mexican restaurant - inside and out. The food may be good; but I don't know because when my wife and I saw the prices while waiting for the server, we were incredulous. Been to plenty run of the mill Mexican restaurants - food really good at some and not so much at others. The prices at Polvos were way out of line. At said prices, I wasn't going to find out if the food was good or not; so, we bolted (a first for me). We went to a different (comparable looking) place a mile away where the prices were reasonable and the food was good.
Food is great and services even better. Please try to keep this place as secret as possible.
Showed up and there was a handwritten sign saying they are CLOSED PERMANENTLY. And that they will miss their customers.Wish I had known that before planning a dinner party with 3 other people ??♀️
Mexican martinis and margaritas are great. Not to mention fajita tacos delicious.
Worst Mexican food ive ever had woyldve rather had taco bell and way overpriced!!!
Staff was to busy arguing amongst themselves to be bothered with customers. Couldn't tell you how the food was since we sat for at least 30 minutes and was completely ignored.
Ordered a few times for delivery, and each time I have some things are missing or added when asked for on the side. Today we ordered a delivery but when arrived food was cold like it had been in a fridge. I live maybe 5 minutes from the restaurant, not expecting it to be piping hot but at least warm. Chips were a side yet were stale. To go and delivery aren't worth it unless dining in.
Food poisoning waiting to happen. The cleanliness of this place was the worst.

The food was, without exception, absolutely bland. Beef tacos were unseasoned ground beef and lettuce on corn tortillas, Flautas were pretty much the same only fried. Even the Mexican salad of avocado, tomato and onion was tasteless.
Service was terrible. When our food was served it was cold. The salsa taste like it was out of a jar. Our meal was less than traditional more like out of a box.
Shootout ever get a star at all but that was not an option. They gave me what looked like put at right to me that it was a chimichanga. I saw your deep fried tacos with puke on top. The absolute worst
Outstanding Mexican food and margaritas. I love everything I've had on their extensive menu. Wonderful neighborhood bar with loyal, hardworking staff who usually remember what you order!!
Just okay.
