My new favorite spot in austin. Incredible ambiance, music/DJ (Sinclair guy) was out of this world, service was top tier (Emily, Shawna, Adam), so much fun. Originally came for 1 drink after dinner and stayed for hours, this will be our go-to place now. Love you guys!

Hands down one of my favorite cocktail bars in Austin! Have been coming here almost every weekend for the last year. Everyone that I bring falls in love with it. Personally I love the concept of the no phone policy. It forces people to converse and have a good time without being distracted with their phones. Wish more bars had the same concept. I love the staff and look forward to seeing them every time I see them. Emily has always been so kind and welcoming when checking our phones in. Tyler is my favorite bar tenders. You really do have to cut the team some slack because it’s one of the most popular bars in Austin and they do their best when they’re working. I can see how things get overwhelming and they’re just trying to do their jobs. I see it almost every weekend and some weekends things do get kind of hectic and busy for them. It will always be on the top of my list that I recommend when people visit Austin. None of my friends have been disappointed with their experience there. Truly one of my favorites! Also music is 10/10 🔥

- People have kids at home who may call in an emergency
- Banks block cards late night and if you don’t have your phone, you can’t confirm your purchase
- You can’t take photos
- You can’t exchange phone numbers with anyone

This speakeasy has a very eclectic vibe, the ambience makes you feel like you’ve been transported to a 70s high end cocktail bar. They check your phones at the door so you can be in the moment which is nice, just something to be aware of. Our waiter was friendly but did not come around often. Unfortunately the cocktail menu was pretty limited and I just didn’t love any of the options. I had a difficult time selecting a drink from the menu because nothing sounded intriguing and the drinks that I did end up ordering were just boring.

I loved the spot in general (great place for date night) but I mostly came here just to highlight how much our night was impacted by his kind and attentive service behind the bar.

With warm lighting, immaculate 60’s rose colored velvet walls, lush greenery, low music, and a kind of buzz that says, you’re in the right place.
From the start, Rachel greeted us like old friends. She caught wind that it was my girlfriend’s birthday and immediately made it her mission to make the night memorable. John followed right behind her, the kind of host who doesn’t miss a beat. He brought the well thought out compliments and sharp wit. Within minutes, we were laughing, clinking glasses, and feeling like we’d found our new favorite spot in Austin.
The bartenders here don’t just pour drinks, they create them. Each cocktail felt like a tiny work of art, balanced and bold without trying too hard. My girlfriend’s mocktail had a floral twist that she’s still talking about, and I’m not sure I’ll ever find a dirty martini as stunning anywhere else. Jason checked in throughout the night, keeping things smooth and making sure every detail was right. You could tell he and the team genuinely cared about everyone’s experience. What impressed me most wasn’t only the drinks or the space, but the flexibility and energy of the staff.
If you want a place where service meets soul, where the cocktails have as much character as the people behind the bar, this is it. We left with smiles, full hearts, and a new tradition. Every birthday from here on out, we’re coming back.

Every time I go downtown for the evening, The Powder Room is always a must stop.
This speakeasy hidden gem serves great drinks amidst an intimate classy lounge setting perfect for gathering with friends.
All cellphones are taken before seating which seems unnecessary but which you end up appreciating due to giving each other your undivided attention; which makes it even more of an intimate ambiance and experience.
We usually sit at the bar and have never had a problem getting seats, but we always go early before the touristy nightwalkers.
