Only way to order is online which incurs a convenience fee. Customers are required to provide a cell number which they use to alert you that your order is ready. However, they will bombard you with marketing and promotional messages long after you have eaten. Not good. Fix this.

I always go to this place for breakfast, and I love the cashier's service. I think her name is Roxie. Thank you for your kindness and wonderful service. Your recommendations are always top-notch! Finally, today I was able to post a review of this delicious spot! ❤️❤️😍😍

Disappointed After Giving Multiple Chances — I Wanted to Love This Place

I truly hate to write negative reviews, especially for local businesses, because I know firsthand how much every review can impact them. I used to own a small business myself, and I understand the weight of a single voice—especially one that people listen to for recommendations. That’s exactly why I gave this place three separate chances before finally writing this.

I work right across the street, and this taco spot is a go-to for a lot of my coworkers. I’ve been coming here almost every Friday for the last five months, easily spending between $500 and $1,000 over time—bringing coworkers, tipping generously (often $10 in cash), and genuinely rooting for this place to succeed.

But after these last three visits, I can’t keep pretending that things will improve.

Each time I’ve ordered tacos, there’s been an inconsistent amount of meat across them. If you look at the photo, you’ll see exactly what I mean: one taco looks decent, the others are barely filled—some with only 4 to 6 small chunks of meat. This isn’t a one-off situation; it’s happened multiple times, regardless of how friendly or supportive I am.

I’m not asking for anything extra or special treatment—just consistency and fairness in what I’m paying for. When you’re spending $30+ on a solo lunch, tipping well, and supporting the business regularly, you’d expect at least a consistent product in return.

Sadly, it feels like my loyalty and generosity have gone unnoticed. Whether it’s due to management issues, lack of quality control, or just a disinterest in improving, the experience hasn’t changed for the better. It’s frustrating to feel like your business isn’t valued—especially when you’re rooting for the place to thrive.

Today was the final straw. As much as I wanted to leave a positive review, I can’t continue supporting a business that doesn’t seem to want to support its customers in return. I hope they improve things in the future, but for now, I’m officially done.

Did not receive a message that my order was ready. Management expected me to take a 20 minute old order of expensive nachos. Refused to issue a refund.

I have to say—I’m genuinely impressed. Austin friends, if you're ever craving Mexican food with real Mexican flavor, do yourself a favor and visit Pueblo Viejo on Riverside. As 🐷someone🐷 who knows good food—especially the kind that tastes like home—this place checks all the boxes. Great vibe, bold flavors, solid variety. Definitely worth the stop.

The most overpriced Mexican food I've ever had. $10 for bland unseasoned guacamole that tastes like it came straight out of a bag (which it probably did), not to mention is put on top of a bed of lettuce so you're not actually getting that much guacamole. Also had the $15 gordita plate with asada but you'd never know because it was incredibly bland and tasteless. The two spicy salsas were good though, so there's that. Would recommend going to any of the other food trucks and avoid this one

Pueblo Viejo has completely lost touch. I just paid almost 8.00 for a tiny taco of middling quality. Absolutely unacceptable.

Very disappointed! We ordered our food from our phones at the brewery, which was convenient. However, we were never notified that our food was ready! After waiting 45 minutes for our food, we walked to the truck to see if our food was ready only to find out our food was ready “quite a while ago”. When we showed the employees proof that we never received notice of our food being done, the only thing they they offered was cold food (no apologies, no offers of warm food). Will not order again.

Enjoyed a tacos al pastor and one of shrimp. Both were great. Also had a side of guacamole and chips. There was a generous amount of chips, but similar disappointment to other reviews were the guacamole was mostly lettuce. Plus both could use a bit more salt and flavor.

The PuebloViejo style taco was dynamite!I'm not a mushroom fan but could hardly taste them. The Lamb Barbacoa was kind of bland. Exempted more. Service and atmosphere were otherwise excellent. Located in the parking lot of Meanwhile brewery. I look forward to trying more items next time

Parking: I was there early at 11:00 a.m. and there was plenty of parking.

As vegetarians, we had quite a limited scope of choice, nonetheless all the three vegetarian options were very tasty! The best tacos we had in Austin

Vegetarian options: Only three options for vegetarian tacos, but all of them are very tasty!
