I have to say—I’m genuinely impressed. Austin friends, if you're ever craving Mexican food with real Mexican flavor, do yourself a favor and visit Pueblo Viejo on Riverside. As 🐷someone🐷 who knows good food—especially the kind that tastes like home—this place checks all the boxes. Great vibe, bold flavors, solid variety. Definitely worth the stop.

I had a terrible experience at Pueblo Viejo. The tacos and gordita we ordered were ridiculously tiny, and they didn't even include the salsa (that we paid for) with the order. When I called at 4 p.m. on 12/14/24 to ask about a refund because $30 for tortilllas with a small side of meat and lettuce is bonkers, the young girl who answered the phone was incredibly rude. She literally yelled, "I don't know what you want me to do!" before hanging up on me.

I tried calling back multiple times, but she refused to answer. I eventually called from my partner's phone, and someone else picked up and was still no help and refused to say the girls name so I could talk with a manager about her--Eli, who said he was a cook. Even then, the young girl outright refused to speak with me.

This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Not only was the food disappointing, but the customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. I won't be coming back & I will be getting a refund through uber eats.

They do not give you salsas with breakfast tacos :(

Don't be fooled. There's no creamy jalapeno dip even after being told there was over the phone. Turns out, after paying $7 or $8 for 5oz. It's creamy serrano salsa. And know that the enchiladas are served with green sauce crema and queso fresca. The staff were nice.

This place is legit. It’s kind of a hole in the wall but don’t let that deter you. The tacos are so flavorful and the sauces are sooooo good. You can get your own sauces, and there is also outside seating. The service was fast and friendly. Will definitely add this to my Austin eats list.

The migas tacos are some of the best I’ve had in Austin. Don’t think I’ve tried anything else but imagine that’s good too. Just those migas tacos are so dang good.

Update: I do remember getting a margarita to go once. It was pretty good too. Ha ha

Came here for lunch. I ordered 2 tacos and it took almost 40 minutes to get that. People who order after me was given there food before me. I guess they don't service african americans.

Easy to overlook, but the food is good and the people are very friendly. Great little Mexican food and bar nook!
