I've picked up pastry here several times, particularly since the options for in-house made croissant in Austin are fairly limited. When it's fresh it's really good (especially the jalapeno cheese croissant), but more times than not things taste like they're 1-2 days old. Just went in for a salted caramel brownie and danish at 11 a.m. on a Sunday morning - brownie edges were completely dried out (no hint of salted caramel flavor either) and danish had a stale texture - I know because I've had danish from them midday during the week that were good. Very very hit or miss, and that lack of consistency is pretty disappointing for the price. I'd advise Sour Duck but they have similar consistency issues.

They have a serious fly problem. While there, I saw several flies in the bakery cases. I pointed it out to the two people working behind the counter. They were well aware of it, said it was a long term problem they could do nothing about. I bought pastry and the whole time I was eating it I thought of flies landing on them and wondering what they were doing—eating or depositing eggs? The bakery needs to fix the problem.

The pastries are fresh and incredibly delicious, the line moves fast, and the prices are still very reasonable in the current inflationary period. Will definitely come back here next time I’m in Austin — recommended!

Although dessert was good I wish they would have sealed their when it is being delivered by a third party.

Paid $35. for a coconut cream pie for a birthday celebration. The pie had less than 1” of actual pie filling. The rest was the cream whipped topping. A lot of topping! Email Quaks to give them customer feedback. Was not looking for a refund or replacement pie. They didn’t even take the time to email me back the standard generic email apologizing. Would not recommend.

The turkey and cheese croissant was amazing. The flaky crust was delicious. I would go there again. The Quacks in Austin was in a great area. Lots of parking and good outside seating.

The croissants at this place are PHENOMENAL. I tried them for the first time last weekend and went back again this weekend! I am telling anyone who will listen that they need to try these things.
There's a wide selection of dessert and pastries. The brownie was more cakey than fudgy, so it wasn't my ideal browie , but I enjoyed the chocolate vanilla cupcake because the frosting was a fudgy ganache that tasted great by itself and on the cupcake which was nice and moist. Worth stopping by if you're in the area and in dire need of a little treat!Vegetarian options: Many good-looking vegan options

I've been frequenting this location for the last 10 years and have always loved the quality and craft of dessert from Quacks...However, the price gouging has gotten out of control. I have always loved the tiramisu. Just 3 years ago it was 4.50 per slice.Last summer it was 6.00 per slice. Now it is 8.00 per slice. Today, I paid nearly double what I did just a couple years ago and looking at the slice -- it's also close to half the size.I'll dissapointingly say, today was the last time I'll be in quacks. But many good memories come from there.Overall, a half slice of pie shouldn't cost double what a full slice used to. We've got inflation, but come on.

Recently stopped by for some key lime pie because of the good reviews and was a bit disappointed. The slice was delicious, but extremely small. Way too overpriced for the tiny portion of pie that you receive.

I really love the baked goods and coffee here! I'm super impressed by how many vegan options they have here. However, the service here can be hit or miss. I do wish that they had more gluten free options; it seems like they might have this based on their vegan friendly array of food, but there is actually nothing gluten free here except coffee. I am not gluten free, so it doesn't affect me, but I have many friends who are who I wish could enjoy this establishment the way I can (:
