We are visiting for the first time moving a friend to Austin, we had just dropped off the U-Haul and needed some soul food we saw this place and we drove over and got here 30 min before they closed we ordered within 5 minutes our ramen came out! Best ramen I’ve had.
BRING BACK THE OLD TSUKEMEN RECIPE!!
The old recipe was so much more rich in flavor and thicker. It almost had a gritty texture to it.
New one is watery and a lot less flavorful.
Sad 😥

So good. After you eat be sure to check out the outdoor bar. Sometimes there’s a bit of a line but it’s worth it. Also, they have a few locations but this one is definitely the best.

I had the Miso-HOT ramen bowl. It was good but I came out hungry.
I absolutely HATE coming out of a restaurant, out $20, and now I have to have dinner again.

in town for a work conference and this spot was recommended to me by a local. got the OG tonkatsu and spicy edamame. i will have to say this is probably the worst ramen i have ever had in my life. broth was salt and grease forward with no flavor whatsoever.
it was my mistake for going in thinking this would be of similar caliber as ramen from LA…i hope there are better ramen spots in atx and that this isn’t the standard.

Ramen Tatsu-Ya on 6th Street delivered exactly what we hoped for. The pan-fried gyoza and kids’ ramen came out together, making a perfect small meal…crispy dumplings paired with a simple but flavorful bowl.
For mains, we had The OG (no kikurage or sesame seeds, spicy bomb on the side) and the Mi So Hot with chashu. Both bowls were rich, balanced, and full of depth without being overwhelming. The Mi So Not gave a lighter option that still carried plenty of flavor.
Service was quick even during a busy stretch, and the vibe inside fit the Austin ramen experience…casual but focused on the food. Strongly recommend if you want solid ramen downtown.
