I enjoy so much our weekday brunch, I came with a bunch of friends. The service was great and food was delicious. We will come back soon! Thank you so much Red River Cafe for your fast and friendly service.
Love their Eggs Benedict. The staff is super friendly and the service is great. This restaurant is in a great location, and the extra is that they have mimosas for breakfast!! 🥂
Unmatched Neighborhood atmosphere, super friendly staff and great straight-forward classic food favorites! Their location was just what we were looking for, as we had a get-together for 23 ladies from different parts of Austin. We were needing something "mid-town" and it was perfect!! Will be back with the family soon!
On our way walking from parking to an 11 a.m. game @DKR, we stopped in here. We split the Southern Omelette with hash browns and fresh fruit. This diner has an old fashioned vibe, even though there is clearly a bit of Mediterranean influence.
The Southern Omelette was delicious, but not like I (a Southerner) make it. If you are prepared for black beans, jalapenos, green bell pepper, and tortilla strips in your omelet, you'll thoroughly enjoy this. I did!
The fresh fruit was watermelon, which made me happy. I tend to make my English muffins and hash browns a bit crisper than these, but I think this is probably the way most other people prefer them.
Loretta Lynn on the 8-track was the perfect accoutrement. ?

This is such a welcoming and dependable place for breakfast or coffee. They have a small dining room, bar seats, and a shaded patio.
It's a quick walk from campus or from St David's hospital.
I loved my veggie omelet and toast, and the coffee was good enough to stop by just for that.
To walk to with your coffee, there is also a small city park a couple blocks west with an adorable Eeyor sculpture and bridges over the creek.
They have a small parking lot and street parking is available nearby.

Cozy little diner that offered a special of two breakfast tacos, a full serving of french toast and a 16 oz iced coffee...not a bad deal at all! The food was very good though I feel the waiter could have been a bit better about checking up on me. Notwithstanding it was a good experience and I would certainly recommend.

We ordered some club sandwiches with cajun fries and they were really good. Cajun fries and black bean nachos are in huge proportions for the great price.

I ordered the three breakfast taco plate. The waitress was nice, but didn't offer to replace the tacos when she asked me how the food was. They were the worst tacos I've ever had. The tortillas were so greasy I could not eat them. It was like they put oil in a cold pan, put the tortillas in the oil, and then turned the burner on. I emptied the tacos on the plate to eat them without tortillas. Well, guess what? I think they also cooked the eggs in the same cold oil. I used to eat at Red River Cafe in the 90's and it was OK food, but now it isn't really edible.

First time here and it was great. I love down home small places like this. Our server was friendly and very on top of things. I am looking forward to being a returning customer.

Incredible food, incredible people, incredible memories. Very special to me and my partner. We garnered a great passion for the red river cafe during our time at UT. Who knew blueberry pancakes were exactly what our relationship desperately needed. I couldn’t recommend this quaint cafe more. Authentic Austin experience.

I had chips and salsa for an appetizer, the Texas spicy burger with fries for lunch. Chips and salsa were nothing special but good enough. The burger was slapped together, cheese and jalapeños were on one side of the burger, and the patty was unseasoned. I don't think the cooks care about how bad the food is. There were only two tables and me in the cafe. The one saving grace was the server. She was a very nice person. She made sure I had what I needed and was friendly.

Maybe I'll try something else next time. Omelet was just eggs with veggies tossed on top and folded. No real cook to any of the vegetables in it... or on top? No side for an 11$ omelet, some hash browns or potatos be nice addition. Large cup of ice coffee so can't complain on that portion. Potato and eggs were very good on another meal. More effort put in to that meal. I'd go back and try one of their specials. Small parking area so caution driving anything bigger than a small SUV. Would go again but maybe not omelet next time
