Nice bar from very early 1900s. Great wood work everywhere with an awesome old-school vibe.

schnitzel was ok, but the pretzel I had was amazing! never knew one could be so good! wipe off the salt, buy a second cheese sauce portion then enjoy. super soft inside with a brown crust that didn't taste like baking soda. awesome ?

Great beers and apps for a break in your day downtown. I love their appetizers with a beer.

Scholz Garten is one of a dwindling number of restaurants that has survived since I arrived in Austin in 1971. It can get pretty rowdy but we arrived at mid-morning during a week day. Only two tables were occupied so my wife, son, and we enjoyed the garten as well as the excellent food and draft German beer. Our server was very attentive and friendly.

I give this place 5 stars because of how well they managed a very large crowd during football season! Drinks and food served quickly, tasty, and at a good value! Lots of fun!

Great place to grab a German pub-style dinner downtown. Brisket Nachos are outstanding! Note that their menu is limited on nights when there’s a big concert at Moody Center. No nachos.

The food was acceptable, but the service left much to be desired. Our server was largely inattentive and visibly disengaged, particularly after I opted for a 15% tip instead of the pre-set 20% minimum on the POS machine. Considering the poor service, I felt 15% was more than generous. The entire experience, however, bordered on the absurd.
