Shangri-La is a fun, laid-back bar that’s easy to like. The vibe is casual, drinks come out quick, and the prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. It can get loud and packed later in the night, but earlier it’s a nice spot to hang out and talk. Staff were cool and kept things moving. Good place to start the night or just grab a couple drinks with friends.

Christine is knowledgeable and friendly!

I’m a bartender too & I gotta give props for her composure during a rush that would have had me stressed!

This place still hits. I prefer industry nights for fun skilled pool games (Sun-Tues) but you can have a good time any night of the week.

Randomly came in on Christmas of all days and D is holding it down! She was slammed from a large bar crawl and got it done. Yay!

They only do glass drinks before certain hours. Other than, you get a plastic cup. That’s what I was told when I ordered my drink. Very rude bartender! What a joke :)

Shangri-La was a solid East Side stop — good drinks, chill patio, and classic Austin energy.
The cocktails were better than expected and the vibe was easygoing, exactly what you want for a casual night out.

Crazy part? I only found out after I left that there’s a hidden speakeasy inside. Didn’t even know it existed while I was there, so now I definitely want to go back and check it out.

If you’re into laid-back drinks with a little mystery behind the scenes, Shangri-La’s worth a stop — and apparently has more to explore next time.

I was only here for about 45 mins but the drinks were strong, they had a fun vibe, a Photo Booth, good music, good service & they had an outdoor patio with lots of seating. I enjoyed my time here and would go back.

Shang is my favorite bar. I love coming here. The vibes are great. And my favorite bartender is Beth. She has the best personality and makes amazing drinks.

No one called me momma here, but some drunk guys ordered the Golden Castle sliders from the food truck. Were very proud about it. Came to me. Looked at mine. Asked, “are they good?” One asked for a high five. I gave it. Then he said “hand hug?” So I did. The bar plays great tunes until about 8. Then people take over the juke box and play their trash tunes. We should trust the bar to play the right tunes to match the vibe. They know what they’re doing.

Walked my tab and they charged me and my friend 60% in gratuity. I was not rude to them at all, barely interacted for 20 seconds. Highway robbery.

I regret ever going here, I experienced racism from 2 different ppl. The bartender was ok but ppl seemed fine with being racist towards ppl who are from south asia. They also skipped my songs that I paid for. The only thing they said they skip is creed. I played treaty oak revival and they skipped that for no reason. I would not recommend this bar to anyone.
