I was extremely upset how my order for my daughter’s birthday went on Saturday…I went into this location on 7/23 and place a special order for a giant donut that pretty much was a dozen donuts in one donut for Saturday 7/26. The manger that took my order told me he would attempt to do it, and if it didn’t turn out he would let me know. Fast forward to Saturday 7/26 I called at 8am because I hadn’t heard from anyone to see when I could pick my order up. The staff that was working had no idea what I was talking about, and the person that took my order was off for the day. They didn’t mute the phone when they called him and I heard the entire conversation that he tried to make it but it fell apart so he didn’t do it. I never received one call or text that they couldn’t fulfill my order. All I was offered was a dozen donuts for my inconvenience. That left my daughter without a cake for her birthday and she was extremely upset. So my husband had to drive 45mins to their competitor to get a large donut cake. I go in this location all the time for donuts and always had a great experience until this past weekend. They left me scrambling the day of my daughter’s birthday.

Donut Fanatic's Honest Take: Skip This Spot for Your Donut Fix
I'm always on the hunt for the best fried dough. This place, unfortunately, just didn't hit the mark.
I tried a few different kinds, and honestly, none of them were anything to write home about. The blueberry donut was surprisingly hard and practically inedible, which was a real disappointment. I also tried the crème-filled, with a darker-looking dough. It was the best in the box yet still not worth the calories!
And the classic glazed? It just lacked that light, airy, melt-in-your-mouth quality you crave in a truly great glazed.
I don't want to be overly harsh, and I know Austin is fantastic for so many other culinary delights. But for my fellow donut lovers out there, if you're looking for a memorable donut experience, you might want to try another spot. We had to toss them! 2 stars because I’m sure there is worse somewhere!

Can’t get regular whole milk if you get delivery, will only allow strawberry or chocolate. Super obnoxious problem that they haven’t fixed for a while now

First and foremost, I want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Christina, the manager. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that each customer receives personalized and attentive care. Her leadership is reflected in the positive energy and professionalism of her team—especially Heaven, Alma, and several other outstanding employees.

Every time I stop by to enjoy a donut, I’m warmly greeted by these ladies. Our small chats make me feel like I’m visiting a family-run business—their camaraderie and teamwork are truly impressive.

The store is always spotless, and the staff greets everyone with a genuine smile. Without a doubt, this experience surpasses anything I’ve had at Krispy Kreme.

Thank you all once again!

Warm regards,
Lisa Ross

While I don't have anything necessarily negative to say about the food, I will say it is VERY awkward to be asked to leave a tip every single time, especially on a $2 donut order. Everytime I go through the drive-thru, they asked me if I want to leave a tip. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to leave a $5 tip for $2 worth of donuts. And one time when I said no to the tip on the card but handed them $0.50 cents in change instead, they rolled their eyes and made ME feel like crap. I gave them a 25% tip and only after they asked me. - that's more than I tip at an actual restaurant. It puts me in a very awkward position and makes me not want to come to this location. It's the ONLY shipley's Donuts that has ever done this to me. In fact, this is the only donut place I've ever been to that has ever asked about a tip. What's next? Will the McDonald's cashier start asking for a tip when I order coffee? Or the gas attendant when I put $5 of gas in? I can understand if it was a $100 rush order or I was picking up 6 dozen donuts on short notice, but not $2 worth of donuts in drive-thru.

They really shouldn't be asking. Very inappropriate.

Speaking of drive-thrus, if you value your car or its wheels, do NOT go through the drive-thru. GO INSIDE. There is a pothole the size of a Harlem Globetrotter in the middle of the lane that is impossible to miss. They have tried to fill it with rocks and gravel, but sadly it doesn't do anything to help as they always get kicked out of the hole.

Perhaps they should use the 250% tips they guilt people into paying and fix the hole properly...

Incredibly rude employee. Scoffed when I asked for one glazed and one unglazed blueberry donuts. I asked if there was a problem. Apparently he couldn’t handle that tiny bit of confrontation that I was reacting to and told me I could leave.

I calmly said we (my two children in the back seat) were just trying to get donuts. He closed the window, grabbed the donuts and gave them to me, and then when I tried to chat with him about it he shut the window and refused to open it again.

He also got the order wrong.

This morning was our first time trying Shipley’s and I believe I interacted with the manager, but he was very nice and helped make sure my kids got the doughnuts they wanted. The doughnuts were delicious too! Definitely be back.

I ordered 6 items. I only received 1 of the items. The 5 items I didn’t receive were replaced by regular cheaper items that I did not like. Two items had ingredients that I’m allergic to. I wasn’t even contacted to make sure this was okay. The box had the message “Some items were replaced thank you! :)”. I also paid delivery and tip for an ordered I never received.

In what world would a restaurant receive an order and give a completely different meal and think that’s okay?
