The food is really pretty good here. However, I sat at the order intercom for five minutes, without a peep from inside, finally drove to the window to get their attention and they said, " Oh, yeah the bell doesn't work." Here's my issue > if you know that, then put a sign up to instruct us drive foward to order or honk to order. Ignoring customers until they leave, just not a good business model.
Can always depend on them to taste good. They really really really need to fix that damb ancient speaker system. So annoying. But the food is always good. Oh one thing there large drink, unfortunately not standard cup holder friendly.

I haven't had short stop in 15+ years so when I was waiting for my other class to start, but didn't want to waste gas and time driving all the way back to Kyle, I thought well I'm hungry and this Short Stop is basically the only place near me to eat and I can kill time just chilling and have late lunch. I looked online at their menu bc I hate being that person in the drive thru that takes so long just looking at the menu and holding others up. I thought we'll chicken tenders sound good, but they only give you the option in a combo of 3pc with gravy & toast, fries, & drink, but I kept looking under the chicken category 4pc or 5pc with toast & gravy but no options for combo. So, when I pulled into the drive thru, I asked the female with the 4pc or 5pc chicken tenders can you get the combo and she said yes so I ordered the 5pc chicken tenders combo but she was being short. I didn't know why when they weren't busy or constant customers. It seemed very slow since I was over there parked for a while. But, she being short said she will give me the total when I pull up. I thought, well, it would've been nice to have known the prices of the 4pc & 5pc as combos (especially when we are on a budget, you know) So when I pull up to the window, she hands me the huge 40oz monstrous cup. I'm thinking, "How the hell can I even carry that in my small hands?" Then she looks at me and tells me the total $18.86. I'm thinking damn I could've went to one of these restaurants around here instead. She hands me my food, but aggressively then quickly shuts the window to where I couldn't ask for anything else, nor did she even ask if I needed any condiments. I went and pulled back into the parking spot I was at and opened the container. I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought to myself back in the day that Short Stop was the shit. Their fries are always on point, and food was always so yummy and on point with your budget. But this I'm looking at was a disgrace. The chicken tenders were so incredibly small that they could've passed for chicken nuggets, and the first 2 I ate tasted like if they were reheated and hard. My container of food looked like very small portion of every item in there as if it was a kid's meal. The only thing I really enjoyed was the smallest portion of fries they gave me with the little itty bitty container of gravy. So when I looked at my receipt to see why I was charged almost 20 dollars for this nonflavorful, hard, small portion of food, I was shocked to see that she rung me up for the 3pc combo but added 1 extra PC of chicken tender which was almost 2.00 each so 2 of those 2.00 each extra tender then upsized my drink which was another 2.00 when I never asked for that. What the hell is that? I was very disappointed and honestly turned off now from Short Stop. I guess when they say things change and are never the same anymore, that also goes for places you use to love and adore are now nothing even remotely like what it use to be. I guess it's true people care more about money than the consistency of their product and service. A damn shame. I had attached a photo of the last chicken tender so you can see what I mean. Hardly any meat to them

Was not expecting too much from this small shack like fast food joint and now I can't stop craving more!
Burgers are huge and so are the sweet teas! Tons of flavor from what I believe are flame broiled patties! Absolutely delicious bacon cheeseburger meal and tons of fries come with the combo. That sweet tea is southern sweet as well! ?

Decent prices for Austin. Food came in paper packaging which I love, it’s biodegradable! All we had was hot dogs didn’t get drinks so I cannot speak to that.

It’s probably roach infested and rat need a health inspector at these places… I ordered the fish sandwich meal the bread tasted not fresh the filet fish look old and taste not fresh and the apple pie taste not fresh and the fries was the only thing hot this place needs an inspection all the locations do
