Room for improvement: - Employee needs training on POS - Ordering process needs to be improved to bridge the language barrier - Parfait without fruit is not a parfait; Remove items off menu if you don't have the ingredients

I LOVE this cheeseburger. I cannot put into words how great this burger is. We had it the first time a month ago and have been back 7 times since. $12 for a burger and fries and $10 during happy hour is the ultimate steal. The fact that we're not talking about shortwave having one of the best burgers in Austin is beyond me.
PS - its a food truck, but you can go grab a beer from radio while you wait.

This is not a diner. It is a food truck. You will be eating outside in 102 degree temps unless you are able to snag one of the (very limited) tables inside the coffeehouse. Just be aware of what you're getting into.

Went for a quick meal with my coffee from Radio. Friendly guy working the stand solo. Ordered burger which came with fries. Immediate thought was the burger came out decent, with solid toppings and buns but the seasoning was too salty. Fries were also average.

Phenomenal smash burger! These stood out as one of the better smash burgers in Austin in a city where smash burgers are wayyyy too prevalent. Extremely quick service and very affordable. Surprised by their overall rating here as this turned out to be quite impressive.

Food was very average for the price. Main issue is their online ordering and google hours start at 9 but the kitchen didn’t open/arrive until after 10. We placed an order at 9:45 and waited over an hour. Service fees and tips from here seem unreasonable to wait over an hour for food and have them open an hour late.

Visiting from Dallas and stumbled onto Shortwave Diner truck. Tried the smash burger and Braut which were both delicious! Great area with other food trucks and coffee as well. Definitely will be back again.
