Went prior to their closing. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I'm so sad they will no longer be operating in Austin for the moment.

We saw on their Instagram that they’re selling the food truck and moving back to Hawaii, with their last day of service on July 18th, so we had to give it a try. The truck is located in a spacious food truck park with plenty of tables set up on green turf and a decent-sized dirt parking lot.

We came on the last Saturday around 1:30 PM. There was a 45-minute wait, and they had already run out of the weekly special (garlic shrimp). To our surprise, their timing estimate was spot-on.

The portions were big and everything looked delicious, but the meat themselves were all lacking flavor so you’ll 100% need the sauces.

Austin Food Adventure Special ($16.50): Kalbi, chicken katsu, a slice of spam, two scoops of rice, and one scoop of macaroni salad. The chicken katsu was nicely breaded and fried but was tasteless, so we ended up dunking it in the katsu sauce. The kalbi didn’t seem marinated and was equally flavorless. Surprisingly, the spam was the best protein on the plate but the standout item, though, was the macaroni salad.

Red Rocks Special ($16): Korean fried chicken, teriyaki chicken, kalbi, two scoops of rice, and one scoop of macaroni salad. The Korean fried chicken wasn’t crispy and had a bland batter. The teriyaki chicken had a nice char and was the best of the proteins. The kalbi and macaroni salad were the same as the other plate.

We left feeling disappointed and weren’t sure how this place received such high ratings. We ate everything fresh so we can't imagine how the good would taste like after being taken home.

Shoyu was my ride or die, but these past months I've noticed a shift in their quality of food. Galbi was cut thinner and the seasonings on the galbi taste just a tad blander. I heard they were closing down, so I wanted to try their food one last time. Well it was a disappointing goodbye when I found a piece a hair in the fried chicken. :( Please don't cut corners and please practice proper food safety.

Had me and my son wait 30M to see multiple people get plates before us. Was told when inquired they ran out of the chicken we ordered.

Requested a refund and they where going to keep my $10 tip untill I said why would I tip with no service or food?

Edit* So, my wife went there and brought food home. I must say thr Teriyaka was fire. If the horrible experience the first time didnt have just off food alone its 5/5. Updating my 🌟 from 1 to 3.

I just had this for the first time and Inmust say 10/10 across the board! Amazing family biz.

I had the Teriyaki Chicken, combo plate and one of their special chickens that was only around for a week. I highly recommend them keeping this one. All I know is that It starts with an O and you have to have it!

We've only tried the chicken teriyaki, but it was perfect. A large amount of food and sides were solid. Will come back to try everything else.

Had take out from this hawaiian food truck and everything tasted great! The katsu was nicely evenly battered, crispy, and tender on the inside. Another highlight was their kalbi; there’s really no words here but that it was banger.

The most authentic Hawaiian Food in Austin TX. Better than the "Chain Stores" that are popping up. Katsu is a favorite but the Garlic Chicken is the winnah.

It’s really good but they sell out early often (bc it’s so good 😂) so I recommend calling to check before you show up!

We were recommended to visit here on our trip to Big Island, Hawaii and it did not disappoint. It’s the perfect food fix if you’re craving authentic Hawaiian food. The owners are kind, friendly and also from Big Island. The red rocks special is great, since it includes a mix of teriyaki chicken, kalbi short ribs, and popcorn chicken. I recommend getting 2 sides of Mac with 1 rice because it complements the meats so well. The serving is so generous that one full size could almost be shared between two people. The buttermilk mochi was subtle in sweetness and delicious. There are shaded picnic tables to sit and eat there as well.
