We keep trying to like this restaurant because of the lake views, but alas, we're done. Once you are seated, they make you order using an app. You order your food, you have to pay and tip before it comes, which means that if the food doesn't come out, you are out that money. Our order came out in stages, which means person 1 got their food first, then 10 minutes later, person 2 and 3 got part of their food, then 10 minutes later, person four got their meal. After 45 minutes, the rest of the meal never came. We asked for a refund for the food that didn't come. They said they would refund it, but they never did. Because you pay on an app, there's no way to get that money back if they don't do it on their end. So overall, 2 burgers, 1 chicken sandwich, 3 very rubbery chicken fingers, and 2 orders of fries that never came were $112. Everyone ate at different times since the food didn't come out all at once, and we didn't get the refund we were promised for what never arrived. We aren't coming back.
Ski Shores Cafe - A Lakeside Gem with Room for Polish
My friend Britt took me to Ski Shores Cafe on a sunny afternoon, and it was a great call! Perched right on Lake Austin, the vibe is pure Austin chill: wooden decks, live music drifting in the background, and that unbeatable water view. We grabbed a spot outside and dove into the menu. The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, with just the right kick from the slaw, and the burgers hit the spot with juicy patties and crispy fries. Service was friendly and quick, even though it was packed.
That said, the wait for a table was a bit longer than expected (about 20 minutes), and prices felt a tad high for casual lakeside eats. Still, it’s a solid spot for a fun outing – thanks, Britt! Would definitely return.

A bit pricey, hence the 4 stars. Considering the property values there, I get it. Cool place. Food, drinks, and staff were really good.

Absolutely stunning spot right by the water!
The views are breathtaking, the vibe is chill and fun, and the people are friendly young and old, everyone has a great time here. Cocktails are fantastic, the food is good, and it’s pet friendly too. Perfect place to relax, enjoy the scenery, and soak up the good vibes. Highly recommend!

Needs a clean. The QR code cards are really dirty. QR code ordering is a pore experience and when you order appetizers they come out with your main course. Foods only ok quality. The service is almost nonexistent. Airport food beats this. Good job it’s on the lake, that’s cool. Ps: used to eat here in the past and food was better as was the value and service.

over priced mid food in my opinion. Definitely paying extra for the atmosphere and not the quality. I wouldn’t recommend grabbing food but cool place to grab a drink. Took awhile before anyone took our order.

It is so unfortunate that this restaurant is located in such a beautiful area because the profiling and lack of customer service at this location is through the roof.

We stopped by Ski Shores with high hopes for a relaxing meal by the water, but unfortunately it was a letdown. The food was just okay at best — definitely not worth the high prices. Service was almost nonexistent; the only interaction we had was when someone brought our water and dropped off our food. After that, servers just stood around and never once came to check on us or see if we needed anything. For the location and atmosphere, it could have been a great experience, but the lack of attention and overpriced, mediocre food really missed the mark.
