Went to the one at Westgate bowling alley.
Had the OG chopped beef large sandwich.
Great.

Food as delicious as the original Slab BBQ location. Of Austin BBQ places, Slab uniquely has the best sandwiches. I had the McDowell, built around delicious rib meat, well complimented with the pickles, onion, and sauce.
This place either offers the best BBQ you'll have at a bowling alley or the coolest surrounding you would find for a BBQ restaurant.
Dope.

Not sure how this place has such a high rating. Got brisket and ribs by the pound. Only flavor was pepper. No smoke flavor on the ribs and no smoke ring seen on the brisket. Ribs looked like they slow roasted in the oven. Zero bark on both meats. $93. Please not this place is more of sandwich spot in a bowling alley.

I will never eat here again. I have loved SLAB for years, long before they were on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. My recent order was completely missing items, and the “BBQ nachos” I order frequently were just a handful of STALE chips and a sprinkling of meat, completely missing the pickles, onions, jalapeños, etc. I ordered online via their website, so I can prove that I did not check the boxes to remove those ingredients. No excuse either for not including certain items. The kicker? You can’t call and talk to anyone, you can only leave a voicemail. You can’t contact them on the website. If I don’t get a response from them by the time the payment is no longer pending from my bank, I will be filing a chargeback. Sure my fiancée could have checked the bag before he left, but we have never had issues with them before and they were tied up. We paid $72 and got $20 worth of food. Never. Again. Did they sell out? I have questions.

Friday night I was trying to decide what BBQ spot I wanted to choose. I was tempted to order from another known spot that was closer, would arrive quicker and was less expensive. You're probably wondering why I did not. Well, banana pudding of course. I added two to my cart. I checked all of the food ordering apps to see if I was getting the best deal but was faced with a problem. All of the food apps except ONE did not have banana pudding so I did not care about price comparisons at that point. I thought to myself, "self, you should call the location to see if they actually have the pudding in in stock. Only one app does reflect that". I called and no answer. I stuck to my guns and ordered through said app , banana pudding? ✅. a chicken two step with spicy on the side? ✅. Brisket two step? you've guessed it... ✅. My order arrived after 36 minutes and man. Chicken two step had the spicy sauce on it (requested on the side and made it difficult to enjoy). Brisket was actually good but I added my own bbq sauce because it was dry. Did not enjoy the mac n cheese and I'm not sure it was a large that arrived because it looked similar to the small I ordered some months back. Banana pudding? DID NOT get. Think back to the beginning, the pudding was the reason I chose this place over others. I was unable to get ahold of the staff, I called and left a voicemail but luckily I was credited through the app. Its a no for me dawg. ESPECIALLY because on the food bag was a receipt that showed the banana pudding added... how could you look at an order, confirm it, PRINT and stick it to a bag and not catch the error. Total waste.

Don't get the meat by the pound, it's terrible. Service was good, hence the second star.

A surprise in Westgate Bowling Alley—but a fun and lively kitchen, with excellent food!! We did takeout and enjoyed our food very much.

The ribs fall off bone, excellent flavor even without the "strawberry" glaze. Always consistent in taste, tenderness and cooking. I always bring 5 pounds back to Galveston to share with friends. Worth the trip.

The man at the front was super helpful and very friendly. I didn’t catch his name but he was working the register. I’d come back for the service alone. It’s a bowling ally the atmosphere is what it is.

Really cool BBQ spot, off the radar but still really good. Their ribs are something to try, they are great and can hang with most anyone in that department.

Guys, really 32.00 per pound on brisket.I asked for lean and got over a quarter pound of fat.I had to go back in just to get bbq sauce, I guess it doesn't come with 1.5 pounds of meat. I am glad I checked the bag.I guess you dont get bread here like all other bbq places when you buy brisket buy the pound.Only 2 tablespoons of onions and pickles for 1.5 #?The flavor is good, but every order has had issues.Service is just not there. My last time at Slab. They have had like 8 chances to step up.

I got so sick after eating here. None of it tasted great, so I only had a few bites, and I am still paying for it days later. The banana pudding tasted like it had been stored with jalapeños, which, combined with how horrible I feel, makes me think they have poor food handling practices.
