Great, quick easy. My husband and I walked here from our VRBO had a great breakfast to start the day. Fast, easy service was friendly. Food was fantastic!
Had a perfect chicken sandwich and an amazing latte with it. Prices were great and cozy environment. Planning on visiting regularly!
Quick friendly service. Had a Groupon for a discount and was treated great. Will be back for more! Dirty Bird Sandwich was dripping with Smoked Gouda Queso! ?
Parking: Customer service parking in front of restaurant
Wheelchair accessibility: Great accessibility
Asked the server with glasses the coffee options and I got an annoyed stare and she just pointed to the wall that had the options. I understand everyone has their bad days, but that was a little rude as it was my first time there. Definitely going somewhere else my next trip.
Update:We've returned back to the office and I've been hoping to find a usual spot given that several locations have closed or changed their hours since the pandemic. I chose to revisit Slake. I went for lunch by myself, then another day with a coworker, and another day with another coworker, and yet again by myself within a 2 week period. So it would go without saying I've found my usual spot. Delicious Dirty Cow Burger, Loaded Fries, Mac and Cheese, Caprese sandwich, side mixed greens salad, and Mr. Biscuit breakfast sandwich, and solid drip coffee, plus coffee with a cause (pic included). I may continue until I've tried one of everything on their menu! Service was spot on and food was finger-licking good each time.***********Today was my first visit to Slake Café with coworkers. I was looking forward to the visit in hopes of finding a go-to lunch spot close to work. Unfortunately, I was slightly disappointed.I had the Bahn Mi sandwich which was on the dry side (I recommend trying a salad instead, my coworkers seemed to like theirs). When I ordered the sandwich, our server asked if I'd like to make it an Express Combo, which comes with a cup of soup (or chips) and a drink, so I said sure and asked if I could choose any of the drinks listed under "Beverages", and she said yes. This wasn't the case - I ordered a Topo Chico and was charged an additional $2. One of my coworkers overheard her say yes to my question and had ordered a TX Tea. When we got our checks, my coworker asked why he was charged for his drink and our server said only Iced Tea or Fountain Drinks were included. One, a Topo Chico is cheaper than their Fountain Drinks, and two, if we ordered drinks that weren't included, it would be nice to be told that on the front end, even though I explicitly asked beforehand. Although, to our server's defense, she may have been stretched thin with the lunch rush.Perhaps better coverage during the lunch rush is needed.
Cute exterior and great location downtown but the brunch I ordered had no flavor. I ordered the typical breakfast of eggs, bacon, biscuit and potatoes with a side of Mac and cheese and unfortunately, everything was flavorless as if I needed to dump salt on everything just to taste something. Maybe it was a fluke but it wasn’t the best eating experience overall
Slake is more of a food/lunch spot than a pure coffee shop. The coffee is ok, but their secret is their cold brew. No joke this is the best cold brew I've had in Austin. It has very very little acidity and has almost a natural sweetness to it. The caffeine content has to be through the roof though since I can literally feel the capillaries in my fingertips tremor an hour or so after drinking.
We came in here as it was convenient to our hotel. Ordered two sliders and two lattes. The lattes were good. The food - one of the orders was cooked wrong and sent back, when it came back it was with wrong item. Server with the lattes was rude and not very friendly. Really shouldn't be in a customer facing role. Not overly good value either. I wouldn't bother find somewhere else nearby - there is much better to choose from.
I was disappointed in my experience. I ordered a watermelon Italian soda, jalapeño cheese kolache, and the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with mac and cheese. I liked the kolache and the Italian soda wasn’t good so I asked for more flavor. The chicken sandwich was a small deep fried chicken thigh and was tough with little seasoning. I thought it was going to be breast meat. The bacon on the sandwich, however, was really good.
The worst avocado toast ever, avocado mash was very dark in color which means it was not fresh at all, the tomatoes were also limp and not fresh,,”the toast” itself not toasted. I ended up leaving the whole dish because it was disgusting, the only bite I was able to have was the fried egg. How can u screw up avocado toast???Don’t waste your money here for low quality food.I had to go somewhere else to actually get some real food!

Stumbled upon this hidden gem less than a block from our hotel Food was delicious and the coffee was amazing Give it a try you won't be disappointed
I stopped into Slake this morning for the first time and was surprised to find an adorable, cozy little breakfast diner. The menu is simple and straight forward – classic breakfast platters, breakfast sandwiches, tacos, etc. Nothing fancy or gourmet, but all well prepared and satisfying. I had the homestyle plate with eggs, sausage, toast and hash browns. Simple but exactly what I needed to get my day started. The staff was lovely. The tables well spread apart for COVID distancing. I would definitely eat there again the next time I'm downtown for a business meeting.
The food is delicious. Everything is made fresh. Really good coffee.
