Google listed the restaurant as open on 12/26/25, but it was closed when I arrived. The owner/manager acknowledged the hours were wrong and responded with “it is what it is,” placing the inconvenience on the customer rather than taking responsibility.
Eat somewhere else if you want a better customer experience.

I recently moved to Austin and was pleasantly surprised to find a great BBQ spot in my neighborhood, located in McNeil Crossing, the strip mall next to Palmer H-E-B. I don’t eat out much or eat a lot of red meat, but I love brisket—and theirs was tender, not too smoky or salty, with a classic BBQ sauce instead of the thick kind.
I also tried a chorizo breakfast taco. The chorizo wasn’t greasy and came in sausage-like chunks, which I actually liked—I just wished there had been a bit more of it.
Service is excellent. The owner, Eric, is very friendly, and the place has a small-town, welcoming vibe. I also really like the restaurant’s cheerful, clean style. Great spot overall!

This was the first time I've ate there. Very friendly people that work there. They're brisket, sandwich moist and delicious reasonably priced. I'm moving to Hutto so I will be eating there on a regular basis. I just love barbecue and they know how to cook it. I highly recommend it for anyone in the Hutto area

They say they do breakfast tacos until 11:00 but they lie. You can walk in before 11:00 and be told they have just decided to just stop doing them early that day. Would not recommend going to this location or Smokey Mo’s in general. Subpar food and terrible service/management. 0/10.

Simple unpretentious place with good food (as in tender, well seasoned, fall-off-the-bone, juicy). Always excellent service! Not like places that try to be trendy!! (Ate, left no crumbs, no photos!)

I was terribly underwhelmed at the quality of food. The potato salad tasted store bought (Walmart), the bacon and cheese potatoes weren't seasoned. The potatoes were bland, no salt, no pepper. Just boiled potatoes with a sprinkle of cheese. Portion size was nothing to brag about. The sausage and brisket were also tasteless. No real BBQ flavor on any of the meat besides the burnt ends, which was the best option. The brisket was dry, gray, thin pieces of meat. The only thing I truly enjoyed were the BBQ sauce, sliced bread, pickles, onions and burnt ends. The rest was a disappointment. I will not be ordering again.
