Our server was great at making sure we were good and that's all I can really say about this restaurant. I believe the food isn't horrible, but for the amount you're paying for, you'd expect either higher quality or more in quantity.

The food here was delicious as always and our waitress was very attentive, friendly, and thorough. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary that night and were comped a dessert which was appreciated. The only semi negative thing is that the small tables are so close together and the restaurant gets quite busy, so it was hard to hear my husband talking due to how loud everyone else in the place was.

We had been to the north location before and the exceptional food brought us back but WOW, Cooper at the S Lamar location gave us an entirely different and still wonderful experience. Compliments to the chef and the server. Every dish he surprised us with was incredible, everything was paced well and the overall attention the detail was superb. If you get Cooper, take his recommendations! We went to Japan last fall and this was our favorite Japanese dining experience we’ve had living in Austin the past 5 years.

Just moved to the neighborhood, so really had no experience or expectations of the place so decided to stop in. It seemed to look more casual from the outside so we dressed causal but nothing inappropriate. Sat down and decided to get a just a couple of apps and asked the waiter if there were any simple rolls on the menu instead of what they offered on the menu. Felt that was the point where it went downhill. Got most our food not brought out together at all and sorry but I worked for eight years in a high end sushi restaurant, so if the sushi chef can’t properly roll the rolls so it doesn’t fall apart it can’t be considered sushi. Should be a more casual spot for the lack of pride shown in the effort. 6/10

Hands down the BESTTT sushi soooo fresh soo delicious. COME TO THIS PLACE NOW😠. The fish MELTED I mean MELTED in my mouth. SENT ME TO HEAVEN with EACH BITE. The uni pasta 😩 I MEAN and the Niku niku roll SET OFF FIREWORKS FOR ME 🤩-me after the first bite. Amazing service came w my boyfriend at like 9:00 on Tuesday after bat seeing and felt so bad but they still took us with a smile gave the best service. LEGIT the host lady SOOO SWEET. Our server who is also head bartender was amazing couldn’t have gotten a better server. THE BEST the GOAT 🐐gave us great recommendations and was amazing to talk to GREAT I mean GREATT service top tier. Too bad I don’t live in Austin currently was just visit my bf but next time I am back you can catch me there fr.something on the house I felt special. BEST experience. This gave me life I was sent to heaven and back and I saw colors after this meal no joke 100000000/10 recommend

We had an outstanding experience at this sushi spot, thanks in large part to our amazing server, Paris. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel welcome and completely taken care of. Paris knew the menu inside and out and gave us the perfect recommendations. We started with the Wagyu gyoza, Edamame and Shishitos — incredible — and followed it with a few specialty rolls he suggested that absolutely delivered on flavor and freshness.These included the Honey tuna roll, the Soto 2.0 roll and the Wagyu land and sea roll. Next we had Aburi hamachi sashimi, Umi masu sashimi, Chili hamachi and Massugo maguro...all were absolutely delicious! Lastly,if you're a fan of uni, do not pass up on the uni pasta! His timing, attention, and enthusiasm made the whole meal feel easy and enjoyable. If you're visiting, definitely ask for Paris — he's the kind of server who takes your meal from good to great. We'll be back for sure!
