The exterior look does not even hint at the interior space vibe. The cloud lighting and effects with tracked robot delivery pods is a unique vibe.
As a first-time visitor, the whole restaurant experience was quite eclectic; additionally, we were celebrating a birthday.
We decided to try several popular appetizers, sides and entrees, then share amongst ourselves.
The duck ravioli appeared to be rich but the sauce was lighter than you may suspect. It was nice to share between the four of us.
Our appetizer choices were Space Balls and Seared Brocollini. They were a good start and an opportunity to test out the robot delivery system.
For mains, we had the Duck Ravioli and 2 Braised Short Ribs. Substituted Stardust and Regular Fries for the vanilla mashed potatoes since we weren't willing to have a double serving of an unknown entity.
After sharing the prior servings, we added 3 Cowboy Sliders to feel satiated.
The birthday dessert was a seasonal pear tart with ice cream.
Our server, Mike, was extremely helpful in selecting drinks, food and negotiating the overall flow of the restaurant. It was slightly busy and noisy but still conversable.
The robot may occasionally stop and offer unsolicited servings but they shouldn't be taken.
Reservations are recommended, parking appears available but we walked.

The vibes were very good and the staff was great, very fun date night. The food was delicious - the absolute only reason for 4 stars is the portions were pretty small for the price. Got a cocktail, the corn ribs starter (4 thin slices of corn) and the short ribs (which was 1 rib on potatoes) - all delicious but hungry again 2 hours later which isn't what you want after an expensive dinner.

Would go back for special occasions though!

Space Cowboy was nothing short of an experience. My wife and I had an amazing time from start to finish. The atmosphere is next level — stylish, vibrant, and just a whole vibe.
The food? Absolutely on point. Every dish was plated beautifully and packed with flavor. The drinks were just as impressive — smooth, balanced, and crafted perfectly.
And the highlight? The little robot bringing out our food and drinks. Such a cool, futuristic touch that made the night even more memorable.
Shoutout to our server as well — attentive, friendly, and made sure everything flowed perfectly.
Overall, delicious food, great drinks, fun atmosphere, and a unique experience. Definitely recommend and we’ll for sure be back. 👌

Food was okay at best. My steak was very rare, when I ordered medium. The server was very kind and made up for the evening but I ended up getting food poisoning from here and have been dealing with it for days. Do not visit.

The Austin Foodies Meetup had the recent pleasure of dining at Space Cowboys. Our group really liked visiting here, and the futuristic and Texas aesthetics that were displayed at the restaurant. The staff also went above and beyond in accommodating our group size, which is a bit large for some restaurants. Space Cowboy staff frequently checked up on us, and efficiently informed our group members where they can find our table. They even provided quality food recommendations and quickly served us food. The food was spectacular! Our foodies meetup really enjoyed our time and we would highly recommend this place. We will be back.

I love the spacing of tables so you can enjoy privacy with your table and it makes it not so loud. Food was incredible and loved the drinks. We did have the valentines fixe menu which was awesome. Would be nice to get fresh plates and utensils more frequently through the meal though. Overall awesome and we will be back!

Space Cowboy was a great experience. The atmosphere/decor is a fun fusion of space, technology, and Texas desert. Our server Carly was very pleasant and attentive. We enjoyed watching the robotic pods racing around to deliver food and drinks. The food is delicious. Everything was prepared to perfection. Our only constructive criticism is that their parking is very limited, but we fortunately arrived early enough to get a good spot. This was our first visit and definitely not our last.

Allow me to recommend that you play a compilation of Jamiroquai (the greatest acid jazz band and arguably the greatest band period) tracks in the background. The original space cowboys (they even have a track called Space Cowboy)!

Had a great early Valentine's Day dinner with our daughter. Service was great, very personable and kind. Fun place for a nice occasion.

This was my first time at Space Cowboy, and I must say that my experience was phenomenal! From the charm of the little robot waiters, to the attentiveness of my human server, Adam, and the absolute care put into the food, this is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had.

The restaurant is space and western themed, with that theming crossing over to the dishes on the menu. Each drink and dish I tried was very well crafted and perfectly cooked. The stardust fries were perfectly seasoned and went perfectly with the spicy aoli sauce. The risotto was beautifully creamy and wonderfully fragrant. The short ribs were amazingly tender, juicy, and fell straight off the bone. And the pear tart was to die for!

If you’re ever in the East side of Austin, give this place a visit! Its food is as delicious as the place is charming.

Ribeye steak was awesome and so was the rest of the food. Little pricey but the drinks were great too. Fun novelty restaurant!

We really enjoyed our dinner tonight at Space Cowboy. The decor and ambiance was really cool, as was the robotic drink and food delivery system. We had space balls and corn ribs as appetizers - both excellent. My wife had the chicken, and I had the braised short rib - both superb. My wife enjoyed a few Lady in Veil house infused drinks. Would definitely take family and friends here for a cool time.

We came for the robots, we stayed for the robots

The duck ravioli (more akin to gyoza) was so good my brain almost didn’t “compute”

Upon first “byte” of the mushroom risotto I got so “amped” up I was at risk of catching a “battery” “charge”

The complementary cotton candy was given with the assurance of Forcefully “Touching my inner child”
The task was accomplished
