I’m a loyal Tacodeli regular. I eat here almost daily because the vegetarian options and consistency usually make it the best casual breakfast in Austin.
That said, the refried beans at this location are a problem.
Compared to Spyglass or 42nd Street, the beans here are: • noticeably bland • under-seasoned • lacking the usual creamy texture • often the weakest component of the taco
It’s a clear outlier in a chain that normally nails its fundamentals.
Everything else is solid — service moves fast, the patio is great, and the overall quality is there. But if refried beans are the backbone of half the vegetarian tacos, they need to match what the other locations are serving.
I love Tacodeli. I just want this kitchen to meet the standard that keeps me coming back.

Mexico City Sirloin is my favorite taco in Austin. The watermelon 🍉 agua fresca is also phenomenal. Ordering through the app is a breeze. The service here is really good. Eric & Vero are the best.

Good tacos but a bit overpriced for what you get. I have no problem paying $5 or more per taco but I want the tacos to be worth the price. Great staff though, every one was kind, the person taking the orders didn't know ow the menu very well, which took a bit more time to order. I just felt bad for the people behind me in the line.

South Lamar people are fabulous! Friendly, fast, and helpful. I’m always on my way to babysit my newborn grandbaby and need food for me and starving new parents. This healthy delicious food sustains us all! When I get my haircut on North Burnet, that location is wonderful also!

Thank you, Taco Deli of Crestview! I ordered pickup through the app and thought I changed my order to the Crestview location, but it went to my neighborhood taco deli on the southside. Crestview, however, was able to throw together my order together quickly (Some beans and salsa/chips). They kindly contacted Taco Dell south to give them a heads up that I picked up the order there. My only regret is that Crestview didn’t get the tip that I left for the South Lamar order. Thank you, Crestview!

I’ve been going to Taco Deli for years. It is In my opinion, the best breakfast tacos in Austin. The Otto is amazing! The lunch and dinner tacos are killer the Frontera Fundido Sirloin is money. Mashed potatoes are amazing. Service is top-notch and on it. Salas are killer! The Doná is not to be missed!
