Tandoori Lounge + Bar (Indian Cuisine)

Their dosas are great and they have coconut chutney which not all places offer . The tandoori chicken is a fan favorite too. We have gotten their malai koftas, lamb tikka masala, daals, biryani and gulab jamun to name a few items! We love to get catering from them too for larger parties! It’s a big hit amongst a diverse cultural group! They really pack it up nicely and you can specify your spice level! Don’t specify for the tandoori chicken spice level just ask for the standard or medium? Great Indian food for south Austin!

We visited this restaurant during our recent trip to Austin, and it was disappointing. The food was just terrible. The biryani lacked flavor, and the goat pieces in the goat kadai were tough, almost like rocks. Additionally, the server brought the naan 15 minutes after the rest of the food. The service was terrible; the server even brought the check while we were still eating, which we felt quite unprofessional and insulting. The only dish we enjoyed was the garlic naan, which was fresh and soft. Overall, this place feels highly overrated based on the reviews.

I was so disappointed this time! I've ordered twice from them and thought the food was some of the best I have ever had. But this time not the case.
First off, it wasn't ready at the time i requested so I had to wait 15 minutes...well, ok. I was hungry but they had a lot of "to go" orders based on people who were coming in to pick up food.

But when I got home:
Veg Pakora was cold and soggy. Not edible.
Tandoori chicken tough and cold.
The Onion Kulcha, which was supposed to be the reason the order was delayed, was NOT hot and even warmed up, not that great.
My usual favorite, Saag Paneer, was ok, but just not that great.

I don't know what happened but I doubt I will be going there again. PLUS, hated it that when i ordered online I had to pay a tip or the order wouldn't go through. I prefer to tip in cash and when the order so totally sucked, it only added insult to injury that I had paid them a decent tip.

GUYS! Help me out here. Offer me another meal and let's see if you can redeem yourselves. I wanted to continue to love you and this makes me sad.

Great service. Waiter and manager were very nice. Very attentive. Would take picture of the food, but our plates are completely empty. First time visiting but won’t be the last.

Buffet was bad and low quality. Stale food. Service was terrible - they didn’t even come to pickup the used plates. Best to go to north Austin for Indian buffet.

Pizza here is fake. We buy it from 7-Eleven. 7-Eleven has $3 pizzas on pi Day. Our manager has us go to all the 7-Elevens and buy them up put them our freezer at the restaurant for the rest of the year and then sell them to you guys at $20. Don't get scammed don't eat here.

Food is always great, I love their goat. That said, the wait is often very long, extremely so when they're busy. They have a lunch buffet that is great but don't come here for dinner when you have an appointment soon after. If you can wait, it is worth it.

We ordered Butter Chicken, Fish Fry, Paneer 65, and Navratna Korma. The Paneer 65 was quite disappointing no flavors, and the Navratna Korma was even more disappointing, with nearly 70% of it consisting of boiled potatoes.
