I’m new to Austin and was pleasantly surprised by how much my family liked this place. It’s a casual restaurant which comes in handy when going out with two little kids who are starving. We ordered, sat down, the kids food came out first which was helpful, the lemonade that came with the kids meal was so yummy. My girls got the chicken strips and fries. The fries usually come with spices on them but because we hadn’t tried them before I had the spices put on the side just in case. The quality was really good and it was a great price for a kids meal.
My husband and I both ordered the Tikka Masala, medium heat and it was delicious. The flavors were great and the garlic naan was very good. I recommend ordering more naan than you think because it’s just that good. Will be returning and had a great first experience.

Fast and affordable Indian food without sacrificing great taste. We really enjoy it for lunch when we want some curry, but don't want to spend the time or money for a full service meal. The Vindaloo and Yellow Dahl are our favorites.

Alright my initial review was bad but I was hungry and upset.

I went back - this time with card - got the hot mirchi mirch with an onion plate side and some garlic naan, and I’m excited to finish it on my lunch break tomorrow :)

Luis just helped me place a large order for a Diwali celebration. He couldn’t have been any more patient, helpful and accommodating on the call. He helped me make my selections and made what was feeling like an overwhelming task super easy! Thank you Luis at Northcross Tarka!!!!

Usually not a fan of chains, but this one started in Austin and deserves it's success. Definitely gave those curious about Indian food an easy going venue to access it.

Delicious food & great prices. They keep expanding their menu so there are a lot of new things to try + old favorites.

I actually ordered my food delivery and we absolutely love this place and the food is always excellent but this time my food was way way too spicy and any other time I ordered it medium spice it's never that hot so they must have gave me the hot or extreme hot and there was only like three little tiny pieces of chicken in one of my dishes. We spent a lot and I was so disappointed with the portions and how extremely spicy it was. Almost inedible for us but it was late so there wasn't really time to try to take it up there and return it for a refund before they closed. Not sure I will return again since it was about $70 waste of food!

Place was good employees were good but the food... It was terrible food portion were small compared to the box, biryani was tasteless other than the spice, and the lassi... WORST OF MY LIFE... Straight from the mango concentrate tin with what tasted like water to increase the portion. I will never ever try this place but to be fair that's all I had so maybe there specialty is something else but if there's this big of a difference I would definitely not recommend.
At least for me they need to realize that Indian food being spicy doesn't mean hot but the strength of the flavors or how flavorful it is. For the mango lassi using the concentrate is fine but instead of water use milk and yogurt to lower the taste of preservetives with sugar for taste after, it really helps with the color and taste.

Tarka is hands down my favorite Indian cuisine spot! I use the app often and love the rewards, it makes coming back even easier. I usually eat here every few weeks (and honestly would even more if it was closer!). The value for the price is excellent, my orders are always accurate, and the food is consistently delicious. The staff is also always so friendly, welcoming, and happy, it makes the whole experience even better.
