First time visiting and had an awesome experience. Walked in and was greeted at the door by Darin. He gave us a great crash course on their sourcing and care for the beef. Offered us samples and truly believe they would have been happy if we hung out all day. 6 out of 5 would recommend.

Tried Tx Beef Traders after a good friend (who knows his meat and grilling) highly recommended them. We were not prepared for the experience…it was GREAT! Darren helped us pick out some beef while patiently and passionately explaining all the natural grass-fed choices (info on sourcing herds such as genetic lines, locations, diet, etc). We had no clue of all the effort and strategy involved! We grilled the meat (tenderloin tips) last night just using a simple gas grill, and, oh my, it was absolutely delicious. No seasoning used other than a little salt and pepper…not necessary. As good as any beef we’ve ever had at any fine restaurant. Until now we just did not understand the difference between this and HEB/ supermarket bought beef. Well worth the side trip and price. We are hooked now…highly recommend.

Beef Traders is hands down the best place for quality meat in Austin’s hill country. Dan and Darren have created more than just a shop — they've built a community. The selection is top-notch, from perfectly marbled briskets to juicy steaks, but it's the welcoming atmosphere that makes this place special. If you want great meat and even better service, this is the place to go!

Fantasic beef! Great service! After trying beef from other local ranches, we came across Texas Beef Traders searching for other options and bought a half cow to try them out. Our first cook was the ribeyes and they were excellent quality, expertly butchered, and delicious. The best steaks we've had at home. There was one mistake in communicating our order to the rancher and TBT owned it and went above and beyond to make it right. Shea definitely earned a repeat customer.

We purchased our meat at Texas Beef Traders. Chef Shea Dow from smoak provisions made us the most incredible dinner! Chef Shea is a gifted and talented chef!! I highly recommend utilizing his services!

I was very impressed with this establishment. Darian was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products they sold. I can’t wait to get home and try the Bavette steak. I also got Delmonico steak, Spicy Asparagus, dried wagu and duck.

Don’t get meat anywhere else. Enter as a customer, leave with new friends. I’ve never felt more welcomed in a place of business. They have a great little table that they invited me to sit at. My wife and I sat there for an hour, listening to music and talking about food. The staff were incredible. Ok, ok, I know you are here to hear about the food. I bought two tomahawk steaks (8 pounds of Texas Ranch certified beef!) and a bottle of wine and we didn’t have a single bite left! Perfect marbling and smoked up just right. I won’t go anywhere else in Austin for my meat and that says a lot! Go visit them asap!
