This property is currently a construction zone! No information was disclosed at booking. I am here on business and I hear is saws, jack hammers and a variety of other disruptions. Absolutely impossible to get any work done, additionally the property has a mild/ must odor. The toilet in the room also runs constantly, a minute in then a minute off. AVOID AT ALL COST!

I would not recommend this hotel. Needs complete overhaul. Rooms and hallways are dark, dingy and musty. Stained carpets and clearly poor ventilation given the smell and dampness in the rooms. First room had hair in bathtub and smelled musty. Second room had hair in bathtub and the air conditioner was extremely loud. Third room finally hair-free but smelled musty and my clothes and the bedding have been damp all week. I will not stay here again. Only positive was that evening bartender was extremely nice and food was good. The morning gal was extremely nice as well at the Bistro too. Breeding ground for mold and mildew for sure. Construction going on outside roof over the entrance but needs overhaul just as much if not more on the inside! Poor lighting at night in parking lot, not enough parking and door to temporary entrance was never locked and slams shut so hard and loud. Given the $200-ish per night price tag, definitely resembled more of an inexpensive motel vs a Courtyard by Marriott hotel.

Only stayed for a night! The hotel room wasn’t too small, I think it was a pretty decent size. The double beds could fit two teens, they had a full length mirror, and the bathroom was a decent size for multiple people to get around in. Huge plus is the a/c that does whatever you need it to! Although there wasn’t complimentary breakfast, there was a golden corral nearby that was good and that’s what we ate. We were a big group from school and there were no complaints! We weren’t supposed to even stay at this hotel but I’m glad we did!

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Customer relations were non existent. People blared loud music and partied all night. I didn’t sleep at all despite asking to change rooms to which I was denied. I will never stay here or any Marriott ever again.

This was not a pleasant stay. The check in was quick. This is an old Courtyard which has not been renovated. The room was old and damp. The lighting in the room is extremely poor. There is no central Air - its a wall unit which makes it a pain to maintain the room at a nominal temperature. The bathroom is old and outdated. The shower in the tub does not work properly. Barely get any water pressure and water does not heat up - it takes forever. Had issues with the door lock - they had to replace door batteries on the first night, keys again did not work on the 2nd night. Flimsy walls- could hear noises from upstairs and the ice machines all night long. Will not stay here again

Avoid this hotel. Hotel website as well as Marriott app plainly lie. If I could leave a review on the Bonvoy app I would. This is the most ratchet Marriott I have ever stayed in. The rooms are out dated, the shower barely works, the toilet seat is loose. The only on-site food is the Bistro which is not open on Sunday's and not disclosed. You are not able to order from your room. The Bistro is out of half the food items on the menu. The front desk kiosk shows as fully stocked in the website pictures, but it's empty in person. I asked the front desk if they had any Benadryl to purchase , of course they don't. The TV in the room is a joke, not internet capable, the "guide" channel doesn't work. The website states as an amenity, in room purchase of premium movies and premium movie channels, neither of which are true. There is no thermostat on the wall, the AC is a wall unit which happens to be under a cabinet in my room, so to change the temp is a chore. Lastly when checking in yesterday, the hotel clerk appeared to be put out that he had to check me in. What's sad is that I am a loyal customer of Marriott with status which can be seen when checking in. MARRIOTT DO BETTER

I am a platinum elite Bonvoy member . I recently completed a stay at the Courtyard Austin The Domain Area, from 10/1/22- 10/2/22. I encountered many issues with this stay. This property and staff is not up to the standard that Marriott holds. Below is a summary of my stay. 1. We check in at 10:45pm after the TEXAS football game. There is a wait as the gentleman working was having trouble with the reservation of the person in front of me. We get to the check in desk after a wait, we are informed that the only room left is on the 4th floor and that the elevator is not working. He also tells me that the room is better than the general room that I had booked. It did take him a while to pull up my reservation and it seemed confusing to him that I had booked the room on points. The whole check in was confusing. I wish someone would have emailed me beforehand and let me know of the elevator issue ( as it was an all day issue ) and given me the option of a different Marriott property for the evening . 2. We haul it up the 4 flights of stairs. In the stairwell the place looks like it is falling apart, rails pulls out of the wall etc. The entrance to our floor from the stairwell is covered in ants. In the hallway on the way to our room I can see that the ice machine is ripped out and there are two trash cans without lids half sitting in the hallway with old trash in them. 3. We get into our room. Room 420. The room is terrible. The toilet looks as if it was taken out of junkyard and placed into a hotel room. The wallpaper is hanging off the wall. The bathroom door is split and does not close. The vent is filthy. Motel 6 rooms are better, and we have stayed at Fairfield’s. All better quality than this. 4. My husband goes downstairs to lobby at 11:05 pm to get our phone charger and asks for 2 water bottles. They attempt to charge him. He says no as platimun members, we are always given a water bottle at check in . The guy looks super confused. I mean the least we could get is a bottle of water after going up and down 4 flights of stairs. 4. At 11:17 pm, I receive notification on my Bonvoy app that my reservation is cancelled. Not sure why this happened, but I assume it had to do with the confusion at the front desk . I decided that I would deal with this in the morning at check out. WE did NOT request cancellation. 5. We go to check out at 9:35 am after hauling all stuff back down . I wait behind a man for 15 mins. We are both saying "hello , anyone work here?”. No-one came. Phone rang multiple times at the front desk and no one answered. Finally at 9:52 am , I decide to leave. The front desk associate was sitting on the bench outside the front door enjoying her cigarette. I picked up cards for the managers of the hotel and sent emails and photos immediately. I have received no reply . This property is not up to any Marriott standard, much less a Courtyard standard.

Very surprised at the very run down state of this Marriott - room lights not working, A/C was like having a truck in the room, the elevstor took hours to do one floor, the bed seemed like it was decades old, the TV was a museum piece- overall the place was just incredibly shabby All the staff, however, bar none were utterly exceptional - the night shift guys were a joy, the lady on breakfast in the mornings could not have been more helpful and the bar tender a credit. They and their guests deserve a better building and environment

I chose this hotel for the location and because I am a Bonvoy member for a recent work trip. DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL! I should have left even before checking in. The lobby was a wreck with minor construction and cleaning supplies all over the place. The front desk staff were not professional in the least. The elevator walls and doors were filthy and the floor was in ill repair. The sleeping room was musty and smelled terrible. The bathroom was also in ill repair. The lighting was YELLOW and there was peeling calk around the tub faucet. When I woke in the morning, everything in the room was damp! I expect a certain level of quality when staying at a Marriott hotel and this one was worse than any hotel I have ever stayed in! It needs to be gutted and completely redone!! Horrible experience to say the least!

Why did I book this hotel without looking at TripAdvisor!! Look at the 1 and 2 star reviews. FIrst off agree with last review, this hotel is WORKED OVER big time. You are greeted immediately with the look of a worn out front door and a rug that looks like it was the 2004 make-over that all these hotels go back then. There are only 2 check-in stations and when I arrived the lady was busy with a guy and didn't say "I will be right with you" or anything. So I am Titanium Elite for Life so I expect a good room and they did give me a larger than usual room, and right next to the elevator, right no long walks to get to lobby. BUTTTT the doors on the elevator slam shut every time you use them and we're talking THUD. I was awaked at 6am, I am still on west coast time so that was 4am to me. At first I am thinking this is a sliding glass door but then realized it was the elevator. Also the toilet was running all night and the clock on the nighstand had the wrong time (30 minutes early). So I reported the toilet and clock in the AM, I should have asked for a new room but since it was just one more night i went with it. Big mistake, today I could actually sleep a little longer but not in Room 220. Also toilet still leaking and clock still wrong. I went to complain and the night clerk and I said how about a beer and snack for my trouble, she said okay. I checked out in the AM wihtout checking my bill and she billed me for it!!!! I will never go back to this hotel again. Oh did I mentino it is so close to the freeway that there is also freeway noise.

I’ve stayed at every type of Marriott they have, been a bonvoy member for years. This Courtyard was definitely a disappointment. Upon check-in noticed a musty, damp smell in the hallways and it was dark and the carpets were heavily stained. Got into the room and had cracked ceilings, dirty remotes (definitely not up to Covid protocol), and a very small TV. Also, missing trim on the night stand, stained carpet in the room and lights that didn’t work. Overall just a disappointment. I know it’s not the JW but you expect the Courtyard to be clean, up to date, and light and bright. Don’t expect the Starbucks that they advertise to be open, hasn’t been for a long time. You might get lucky and get coffee depending on who’s working the front desk.

We booked this hotel a week before coming to Austin, secured with a credit card and checked in for late arrival. When we arrived at the hotel at 9pm, after calling for 3 hours with no answer, we were told that they overbooked and our room was gone. The front desk guy found another hotel for us which was all around terrible. Train passing every hour, bed ridiculously hard, stains on the carpet. Yet he told us this would be an upgrade. What has happened to customer service in America? Marriott needs to do better by their customers!

The hotel itself was in poor condition. Terrible smell, dirty bathroom with cracked ceiling and paint in the bathroom. What made it the worst was my experience dealing with staff and management. I left a suitcase there and one of the staff was able to find it and validated it was mine. She said she would hold it so my niece would pick it up and assured me they would not give it to anyone without a proper ID. My niece arrived two days later to pick it up and it was gone. They changed their story each time from telling me they gave it someone else, to lying that they actually never had the suitcase, to telling me they would reimburse me, to now, not calling me back or doing anything about it.

The staff was super nice when checking in. Upon entering the elevator, the floor was covered in puddles of water. When exiting the elevator, the smell on the third floor was terrible—just nasty wet carpet smell. The room did not have a thermostat to control the room temperature. The bathroom door would not close. We are loyal Marriott customers—only staying at their properties when we travel for business or pleasure. This was by far the worst one we have visited.

Location was great, hotel was in rough shape. Our toilet was basically broken, the lights in the bathroom/ sink area took forever to turn on after flipping the switch, and the furniture was pretty worn out. Pool could have been cleaner. We had family traveling with us and one of their door lock mechanisms was coming off the door. Very friendly staff, everyone was super nice! An old hotel that had what looked like a rushed face lift. Definitely needs work.
