I have visited this restaurant several times since 2006, most recently in Dec 2025. It has never disappointed and provides flavorful Indian food with a nice ambience. The location is very convenient and they have a good selection of Indian food including some entries which distinguish them from other Indian restaurants in the city. Furthermore, the quality of service is admirable. Its not just a place to get some Indian food but also a great place for a date or an event or a business dinner or to just bring someone visiting from out of town. We will definitely be visiting again.

Servers will laugh at you. Food was really good, however, the waiter was talking to the table next to us about politics loudly most of the dinner. Then when we were paying he told us that the other table tipped him $100 and that we now have competition. Someone at my table didn’t tip and he literally laughed at them. All of this is very unprofessional.

Set up a birthday surprise for my significant other while out of town. Staff was accommodating and Treed helped as much as he could. Food and presentation were outstanding and their spin to classic cocktails… refreshing. Infusing their vodka in house as well. Thank you for the assistance!

I ordered the lamb korma it was very delicious. I would recommend hot as medium didn’t have enough spice for my liking-delicious nonetheless. Service was fast and the waitress was nice. It is a very beautiful restaurant!

Clay Pit never disappoints! This is easily one of our favorite spots in Austin—from dinner date nights to bringing friends and family, it’s always incredible. The food is absolutely outstanding, especially the Lamb Kadhai (so flavorful and perfectly cooked!) and their fresh, perfectly soft naan. The drinks are not only delicious but also so beautifully presented.

The interior is stunning—warm, elegant, and such a vibe—and the service is consistently amazing every single visit. Nav even stopped by our table to personally check on us and make sure everything was perfect, which was such a thoughtful touch and made our experience even better.

They also have a fantastic party hall for events, which is a huge plus. Overall, Clay Pit continues to be our go-to, and we can’t recommend it enough! 5 stars every time.

Dear Clay Pit Team,
My husband and I visited your restaurant for a lunch date. When we arrived, there were only three tables occupied. Shortly after, the area became busy, and guests who arrived after us began receiving their meals while we continued waiting.
After approximately 40 minutes, I asked our server for an update as I needed to return to work. She kindly assured us that our order would be out soon. However, a few minutes later, I observed the host removing food from another table and taking it to the back—food that appeared to be our order. It seemed as though the meal was mistakenly served to another guest and was being retrieved to re-serve to us.
At that point, we decided to leave. When we informed the host, the response was simply “OK,” without any apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience.
For future reference, if an order is mistakenly served to another table, please do not attempt to re-serve that food. Additionally, when an error occurs, a sincere apology goes a long way in maintaining customer trust and satisfaction.

Claypit is your place to get that best of Indian food. It's near UT Austin campus and the customer service was great. They also have halal options for lamb and beef which was amazing. I loved the food and drinks and it was not noisy like most restaurants I have gone to. Definitely recommend
