We visit Austin often and we always make time to visit and eat. The empanadas are amazing as well as the tostones. We usually end up buying 5 to 8 empanadas, because they are that good
The empanadas were incredible. Chef Marvin puts cheese in them, a unique touch and the sauces are a great addition. Tried tostones for the first time and although I’m not a huge fan of plantain I was very impressed with how flavorful and crispy they were. And although it was a hot day, the food park has great seating area that’s shaded. Just be ware that the empanadas are made to order so they do take a bit to come out.
Ok. I love empanadillas! If you are looking for THE perfect empanadilla/pastelillo/empanada or “turnover” in English…. You should definitely try The Doughminican’s ground beef empanada! I’m usually very hesitant to try the picadillo or ground beef at restaurants because it’s usually flavorless, boring or with huge pieces of vegetables … this one is flavor packed without being salty or spicy hot… just delicious!
