Very disappointing breakfast experience. The menu was changed and not for the better. The food did not taste fresh and was served cold at the table. The waitress was rude, and the service overall was slow and unfriendly, which made the visit even worse.

This place used to be much better. Please bring back the old breakfast menu and improve the service.

We stayed at the Driskill for a few nights over our wedding weekend. A huge thank you to Guliana and her team for making us feel so welcome and SO happy to be at the Driskill for our special day! We stayed in one of their updated rooms and it was beautiful.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for brunch this morning. The young man serving us might need more training. I ordered sparkling water with lime, but it came without the lime. We asked for it and it was brought to me in his hand and then he proceeded to put it on the rim of my glass. For a hotel of this quality it would be more appropriate to have it put in a bullet or plate and delivered.

Also when we were finished, we asked for the check and this same server asked for our credit card before we even saw the bill. It was only after he ran the card did we receive our total.

Other than these two instances, the food was delicious.

Great location, we walked everywhere from here easily. Friendly helpful staff and a stunning property with lots of amazing art work that fully complimented the interior. We stayed in the new building so didn't get the full historic experience and the noise from the alley below was intolerable especially at 2AM.

Incredible service from Drew in the restaurant this morning . She went out of her way to help our family celebrate incredible news . Thanks Drew . I will come back over the holidays to get drinks in the bar as we live very close to the Driskoll . 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Enjoyed a smooth old fashion and dirty gin martini in the lounge. Service was incredible

I spoke with Amber about a specific soap that I had used while a guest from over a year ago! And she provided me with info to help track it down for myself!! She was so sweet and helpful. Love this hotel and love the guest service :-)

This review was for the Victorian Bar inside the Driskill. This place was decorated nicely, and it is very popular. We visited on a Saturday night and we were lucky to walk in just as a couple left from a love seat. It's standing room in here. But the drinks and apps were good, but a little too crowded for my liking. I hope they reopen the upstairs bar to alleviate some of the crowding.

It's a historic hotel, so it has a charming interior, nice finishings in the rooms, high ceilings, etc. But if you're not too fussed about that kind of stuff, I'd suggest staying elsewhere. The hotel was very noisy. In all their wisdom, they choose to buff the floors between midnight and 2am. I also did not find the staff to be particularly courteous. It feels like the staff and management team you'd expect from a Holiday Inn were transplanted into this historic hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Driskill in Austin this past weekend, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens were first-class, and even the towels in the bathroom were top-notch. The room was quiet and peaceful — exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay.

This wasn’t my first time staying at The Driskill, and I’m happy to say they’ve definitely not lost their touch over the years. The service and attention to detail remain just as impressive as I remember.

The only small downside was that the bar was under remodeling during our visit, but that’s hardly a complaint — improvements are always a good thing, and I’m looking forward to seeing the finished result next time.

Overall, another excellent stay. We’ll absolutely be returning in the future.

Drinks in the bar are fun. Beautiful setting. Inexperienced server, did not have all call liquors, very loud.

Not sure about the rooms but from the pics looks very nice! Trying out their cappuccino & pecan chocolate croissant

We enjoyed our stay, but the near $200 in taxes and $65 valet fee is a bit much. I was told the heritage balcony suite was $619 and valet parking (bc there is no parking except for on the street that we saw) would be $40 when I reserved the room. There was no mention of the excessive taxes and fees that would be tacked on so that it came out to $847. I also should have asked about where the room was located, because really...since it overlooked the back ally and a portion of 6th street, and wasnt the front facing balcony overlooking brazos and 6th, we barely even went out on it. It was halloween and we had hoped to be able to people watch so that was a disappointment, an expensive one at that. Also, it is very loud, which didnt bother us, but if you are looking for a quiet place to rest up, this is not it.

The entire building is beautiful and keeps the traditional concept. Everyone (but the doorman and bar staff) at the Victorian was so kind and professional. Doorman has no people skills. If the guest has questions at the bar/restaurant, they need to be answered. The bar staff need more customer service training. 40 dollars for 2 small drinks require undivided attention from the bar staff.
