Stopped for a quick drink before a comedy show, but the bar was under renovation. Drinks were available in the lobby, it was a little loud and not quite what I had hoped for. Will need to come back another time.

The Hotel has a moldy smell throughout the lobby and mezzanine levels. Very overpowering and makes me sick to my stomach. The smell doesn’t seem to be as strong on our floor but it is still there. The staff in the bakery was not very friendly or helpful. I had to go beg for napkins and silverware and the manager seemed annoyed that I asked. Some staff needs some retraining but others were awesome. Valet staff was the best I’ve ever encountered.

Go ahead and stop. Get the truffle popcorn but don't bother with the drinks. Place needs cleaned, dark and rough around the edges. Not reminiscent of the glamour of its day.

Place you must at least walk thru.

Drinks are too expensive. Instead of paying over $20 for each drink, walk around the corner and find a nice place for half the price and much kinder service. As a group, we stood at the bar to get our drinks and then went to sit at a table. We were told that we had to order our drinks from the waitress working that table. For a clearer picture, the bar is the center of the room, and all of the tables are surrounding it so it definitely seems that they are all connected. In fact, the waitress fills her orders by the exact same bartender. When the rest of the group arrived and sat at a table, we were not allowed to sit with them because we were already holding drinks. So we stayed at the bar, but as each person finished their drink, the bartender asked them to leave, even though the majority of us still had partially filled drinks. The decor is very nice. And even though the drinks were overpriced, we would've gone back the following evening had the service not been horrific.

In what lacks in the quality of the service (& at least somewhat of the drink-making), is made up for in its ambience & history, and overall energy of the place. Worth dropping by for a drink at the very least.

Had shrimp quesadilla last night at the Hotel bar, they were horrible and woke up at 3:am this morning with food poisoning, I’ll be out of commission all day and most likely tomorrow for a quesadilla.

Classic bar in a historic hotel. The bartenders are pros at making the classic cocktails. They also create unique craft drinks. Definately worth a visit.

A true Austin classic. Drinks are good and the bar itself is a great place to have a meeting. The hotel rooms are pricey and probably not the best bet in town.
