Beautiful place, and then the customer service TANKED! charged $250 for excessive cleaning, for puke…. We NEVER puked in our room. Said they did an investigation, and that it was true. Wouldn’t even consider that it was possibly a mistaken room, or mistaken floor. Refused to reopen investigation, that they don’t make mistakes ever…. Refused everything. Appalling customer service. DON’T GO HERE!

No disappointment. They know how to take care of customers and service. Will keep going back.

used to be one of my favorite places. they did away with their food menus, only QR codes now. guess I'll never eat here again. too bad. anyone aware of what QR codes are capable of wouldn't let this happen, but here we are.

whoever set this up for you is probably stealing your customers imei and other mobile data. i hope I'm wrong but i bet your menu migration was cheaper than it should cost.

Wonderful service, authentic ambiance.

The food: presentation and flavor are beyond compare. The quality was amazing! The ambiance was wonderful and historical. I was the only person dining, so the service was a little slow considering- but she was awesome. Highly recommend. Quantity of the food seems small for the price, but the food is filling.

Very poor service. No one was there throughout dinner, had to complain to get any amount of service only to be told the restaurant was closing the next day so my complaint didn't matter. Staff was incredibly rude, including the manager who took her time to address my concerns. Had booked reservation months in advance for a birthday celebration, was completely ruined. Do not recommend at all.

My goodness what an overpriced, under impressive meal. Had a prime ribeye steak, marketed as Steak Frites. Steak was literally a 1/4” thick. No exaggeration. Not an inch or 3/4, but a quarter inch in TEXAS. Shameful. Cudos to whomever sharpens their knives as only the sharpest could have cut it that thin, unless they actually use a deli slicer machine. Steak tasted ok however and cooked decently but no seasoning on it and no salt & pepper to be seen in the place. Spinach was not fully cooked with no seasoning at all. Fries were soggy and worse than bad fast food fries. Full Cesar salad was decent but only five pieces of lettuce—tiny salad. I was shocked how low quality the meal was. Steak frites + cesar salad + side of spinach was $78 with tax, before tip. Do yourself a favor and skip this over inflated, source of shame at the Driskill hotel.

My boyfriend and I love coming to the bar for a drink and chocolate cake! For some reason their servers are always so rude! We came here and sat down in the lounge/couch area and the server told us the area we sat down at was reserved. There were no signs in sight and it was the first time I’ve heard the lounge area required reservations. She ended up serving us anyways but with an attitude. We came back today, and tried paying with cash, the server insisted they do not take cash without any kind of explanation. She was short and dismissive. Very disappointed in the service at such a beautiful hotel.

I have been planning this dinner at Driskill for a while. Unfortunately, my experience was below my expectations. The service was terrible, slow, and kinda disinterested, which was a big (and bad) surprise as it’s a restaurant of a 5-star hotel, where the hospitality is supposed to be outstanding. The waitress took almost 10 minutes to show up, the soft drink came warm, she didn't give us a cocktail menu, and rushed us to order the food. The silver lining was the food, it was delicious. However, you can go to a bunch of fancy spots in Austin and pay the same price with a friendly staff.

Ribeye steak was a very thin cut. Salads were great and chocolate cake dessert was wonderful. Server was very good. Chose this historic hotel since it is touted as the site for LBJ and Lady Bird's first date but no one knew anything about it at the restaurant. And they had no record of our reservation however we were immediately seated because there were few diners in the restaurant.

Overall we really enjoyed our dinner. The Caesar salad and the scallop starter stood out as our favorites, and the steak & frites were also very good. The duck fat latkes were also very good but needed a sauce or something with them. Lobster bisque was good but nothing special as was the chocolate dessert. Restaurant ambience was a big contrast to the bar. Almost a little too quiet. Our server was mostly attentive and very pleasant. The manager was actively helping with service and seemed to visit each table at least once.

Beautuful dining room with good service, but, food was good but not anything above average for a 3-4 star restaurant. Food was very expensive, not outstanding and nothing offered that makes you feel it was special. Flowers on the table, sherbert between courses, a couple of truffles, an espresso bar. Wait service that pulls out your chair, plsces naplin on your lap, etc. Make it an exceptional experience. Also ery limited menu

So glad the Grill is back. Everything we had was done to perfection. Wedge with blue cheese, crab cake, salmon and short ribs. Beautiful presentation and the right amount of attentive service.

Service was excellent. Food was ok. Restaurant was almost empty when we arrived and were seating next to the service station. Which was a bit of a disappointment. Large table (birthday celebration ) arrived shortly after and was rather loud.
