The Happy Lobster Truck exceeded my expectations. It was delicious and the best part was not having to pay $$$$ for a tiny piece of meat. I def recommend this spot. There are also other food trucks in the same area (we didn’t get to try) and plenty of live music and street entertainment all around.
Got the lobster grilled cheese and onion rings. Friendly and fast service. Grilled cheese was very hearty and filling! Found the onion rings to be a bit more oil, but loved their spicy cheesy sauce! Would definitely come back to try other items on their menu.

Tried stopping here on the way back home on a road trip. Paid $35 parking fee and they weren't even open when their hours clearly stated they would be. No signs or anything indicating they'd be closed either. Was able to enjoy lobster rolls at a shop nearby, thankfully.

Located in the Rainey Street Food Truck Lot in the Rainey Street Historic District, this food truck offers some of the best lobster rolls you'll ever have.When my friends and I arrived at the food truck lot, we were immediately drawn to The Happy Lobster Truck. The truck hadn't opened yet, but we were lucky enough to be there early, and we couldn't wait to try their lobster rolls. We ordered a regular-sized Happy Lobster Roll to share, and we were already salivating just thinking about it.As soon as we took our first bite, we knew we had made the right choice. The lobster was fresh and flavorful, and the bun was toasted to perfection with a generous amount of butter. It was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle, making it the perfect vessel for the succulent lobster meat.What surprised us most was how amazing the lobster tasted, considering we were so far from Maine. It was definitely a pleasant surprise, and we couldn't have asked for more. The roll was not too heavy and it was a perfect balance of flavors.Overall, The Happy Lobster Truck is a must-visit food truck in Austin. Their lobster rolls are out of this world, and we were blown away by the quality of the seafood. I recently tried their Angry Lobster Roll, and it was an explosion of flavors in my mouth!The first thing that struck me was the spiciness of the lobster. It had a perfect amount of heat that gave it an extra kick, without overwhelming the delicate taste of the lobster meat. The lobster was tender and juicy, and I could tell it was fresh and of high quality.The seasoning and spices used in the Angry Lobster Roll were spot on. The combination of spices added a depth of flavor that left my taste buds dancing with joy. It had just the right amount of saltiness and tanginess, which complemented the lobster beautifully.The only disappointment was that the roll was served on a traditional hamburger bun instead of a classic lobster roll bun. While the bun was fresh and soft, I was hoping for the authentic experience of a buttered and toasted lobster roll bun, which would have elevated the dish to perfection.Despite that small hiccup, the overall experience at the Happy Lobster Food Truck was fantastic. The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and portion size. I was in town for SXSW playing some shows and we stopped off to grab some food at Happy Lobster Truck and let me tell you...THE MOST AMAZING MEAL EVER! I legit had to go back after eating to tell them. The lobster was so fresh, the bun was buttery and toasted to perfection and the fries were seasoned to perfection. I'm still thinking about this meal almost a week later! Thank you so much. I will 100% be back next time I'm in Austin!
Here’s what you need to know: love love love this truck! Amazingly juicy and perfectly seasoned lobster in delicious brioche (round) buns with spicy giardiniera. Just perfection. They have a non spicy option too which may even be more popular but I’m all about the ANGRY lobster :) their grilled lobster cheese is over the top delicious too. Cannot get enough :)

This was my first time hanging out on Rainey and it just so happened to be my birthday and it was more than worth the visit and wait. A lobster grilled cheese where did I begin. This grilled cheese is NOT your ordinary grilled cheese. The bread, cheese, & lobster was so good I wanted to slap the cook! haha in a good way. I am NOT a outside person but the atmosphere and space was nice. This place is a must go to I even save a piece for later I got full so quickly. I will not ever doubt putting lobster & cheese together. Fabulous
