The food is awful. They need to take the non-existent sharable menu off the internet.

We’ve been to The Water Trough a few times now and in aggregate it is a fun and lively place to dine at. The closest parking is the Orange Garage so the walk over is quick. Breakfast or dinner, it is a nice, clean place with a good vibe and good food. The setting at night is much better as they have live music most nights and put up the garage shutter so you can hear it from their outdoor portion as well.
On the breakfast side of things we sat quickly and service was okay. We ordered the Texas breakfast tacos and the pancakes, hash browns, and bacon a la carte. The breakfast tacos were good. We got them with brisket and the portion was huge, although we wish it came with three tortillas instead of two because it was more than we could fit into them. The eggs, cheese, and brisket all came together and despite what reads as a smaller dish, we were pretty full by it. As for the pancakes, hash browns, and bacon; all were pretty classic versions of them. The pancakes were good, thin and sweet. The hash browns were cooked well with a slight crunch and the bacon was the highlight of the three, full of flavor with a nice chew and crisp. We also ordered chocolate milk, but whatever we got was NOT chocolate milk. It was closer to a frothed drink and had cinnamon in it which was a bit strange. The waitress could clearly see we were not feeling it and she comped it on our bill which was very, very nice of her to do without asking.
The dinner here is much better than the breakfast admittedly. The live music certainly helps and the vibe with the low lighting gives it a very nice feel when dining. We had the country fried steak and LSC burger, both very good. The country fried steak was one of the better ones we’ve had here, extremely savory and the fries were good too. The burger was juicy and full of flavor as well. Beware the fries here are really home fries or cubed fries in case geometry is not your thing.
Ultimately, The Water Trough is a very good place to eat at and is probably a bit overlooked due to its location in The Domain, but between solid food and good live music scene, we don’t see why anyone wouldn’t want to stop by. We’d recommend this spot as an alternative to the hustle and bustle of the north Domain and for those preferring a more relaxed and intimate night of food and music.

Cheap, basic hotel food. We thought this was a stand alone restaurant, but we were wrong. Considering the countless food options in walking distance, we would never visit here again.
The breakfast Cowboy Platter was not good. I’m not even sure they use real eggs at this place. Extremely disappointing.

I could not even get the waitstaff to acknowledge me or bring me a cup of coffee. I finally just ended up walking out while one of the managers was sitting against the wall eating their breakfast watching my disdain. Pathetic. Never even got to the food so I can't even review that.
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! This place needs new leadership! Everyone is so lost! If I could give it zero stars I would. With the choices available within steps of this restaurant don’t waste your time here. We stayed at the hotel onsite and came over in the morning to get my daughter to-go breakfast for her birthday. The service was absolutely terrible, the worst I have ever had. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Everyone working there was so lost. We waited an hour and a half for a to-go order. We had to get up and ask for our coffee and for refills as waited. No one waited on us or served us at all. We had to get up and beg for everything we got. We finally begged for our bill, they brought it and it was completely wrong. We asked politely for it to be corrected as it wasn’t any of the food we ordered. They didn't know how to correct it. It was just such an overall mess all around! For the restaurant in what is supposed to be a higher end hotel, I was thoroughly disappointed. Do better!
Twas a great life choice for dinner and a drink!!!
We had the most amazing dinner at the Water Trough! Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the manager Bobby is so nice and fun as well. Great places to sit inside and outside. We loved the atmosphere with great vibe, live music (very talented guitarist and singer) that was a great volume, nice for the atmosphere but wasn’t too loud so you can still enjoy conversation. When it got windy it was a bit chilly and they turned on these beautiful outdoor gas fires that made it nice and warm.
And the food was delicious! We got quesadillas, chicken fried steak and the pear/buratta/cherry tomato salad and would highly recommend all of these dishes. We’ll definitely be back!

Morgan was amazing! LOVE THE LIVE MUSIC, FOOD AND SERVICE!
The food was very good, the bar staff was super friendly, but the atmosphere was different than I expected... I didn't realize until I walked in that it was directly attached to the hotel, and people checking in would be walking by during dinner, or kids would be swimming and yelling (nothing major just being kids, just wasn't what I expected).
What a great find!! We enjoyed beers and appetizers on the porch to celebrate a family birthday. Victor, our server went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. Good beer and cocktails! Great location! Great service!
While the location is pleasant, the dining experience lacked the ambiance of a traditional restaurant. The salmon, though tasty, was a bit too spicy for my preference. The fries and burger were both overly salty. Additionally, I found it disruptive when plates were cleared before everyone had finished eating, and the check was presented mid-meal. This restaurant's style and service don't align with my preferences.
The food was amazing!! Server seemed very inexperienced and unfortunately made it difficult to enjoy our meal. The kitchen is amazing though, would come back and just sit at the bar 😊
