Great food and service! We did have to wait about 30 mins past our reservation time but things happen! Our waiter made sure we got food quickly as we had a show to go to.

Great food, loved the kale hash and sofrito lentils. Order chai latte and sent it back as it was supposed to be hot but it was tepid. Then the remade order had waaaaayyyy too much cinnamon... was it spite? Unsure.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. We had brunch the day after the big freeze and ice storm. Service and food were amazing. We loved it so much we went back for Happy Hour that night.

Great service and delicious food! Making a same day reservation was helpful because it was busy. It was almost a full restaurant when we arrived at 12:30p on a Saturday even when the temperature was 33 degrees (F).

Great experience overall! Tasty food, although I have wish the meat in the tacos was hotter/warmer

Honestly every single visit has been so healing. We have food allergies in our family so we're so used to being selective on where we go. The peace of mind we have here is invaluable. On top of that, every single visit we've had 10/10 service. The staff, waiters, busers, hostesses have all been sooo kind and gone above and beyond. Last night we celebrated my husbands birthday and the waiter saw we had three kids and without us even asking made several incredible suggestions for us to modify sides for them. Not expected at all, but that made this one of the best dining experiences we've had with young children. Now, on top the food. Literally every one of us enjoyed every bite. All of us enjoyed our meals. The new seasonal menu was AMAZING. The salmon plate...insane. The steak frites, so good. My kids also got sides of steak, salmon, the taco trio, brussel sprouts, crispy potatoes, Cesar salad kale/cauliflower and the crispy sweet potato fries. Everything was amazing. The even came home and ate the leftovers! So appreciate the staff, chefs, owners for consistently giving us such an incredible experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

really good food and everything is gluten and dairy free
i got:
texas wagyu steak with potatoes
the steak was perfect, potatoes were okay, but everyone else thought they were amazing, so i’m just biased
the guac and chips were good too, i loved the pomegranate on the guac

Atmosphere, food, and service are all lovely. The place is so cozy and well decorated with dim lighting and cool art on the walls. The food is truly outstanding. Service the first time we went wasn’t so good, but was made up for in our next visit. Chelsea was so warm and personable and made our date night so special!

🧃 Critiquing with Chris: The Well — Austin, TX

Final Score: 1 out of 1 (aka the highest honor in the Chris Rating System)

Let me tell you something… The Well in Austin just healed my soul, my stomach, and probably 3 past mistakes.

I walked in hurting — like “why did I let the bartender talk me into that last tequila” hurting.
And The Well hit me with the best hangover cure on the planet:

🥣 Organic Pasture-Raised Chicken Bone Broth — warm, salty, comforting… like a hug from someone who actually texts back.
🥑 Perfectly Ripened Avocado — buttery, smooth, and basically the vitamin-rich apology my body needed.

Two sips and one bite later?
Boom — resurrected.
I officially went from “barely alive” to “ready to make questionable decisions in Austin again.”

So yeah… The Well gets a 1 out of 1, the rare perfect score, because they brought me back to life like a green-juice Jesus.

The well is an absolute go to for my daughter who has celiacs. Had her 23rd birthday there and she had a fabulous time. The servers could not be more gracious and the location could not be more relaxing.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Their beverages were boozy, food delicious and ambience just tied the bow on top. I will definitely be coming back again!

My favorite brunch restaurant in Austin, went before the University of Texas football game with my two adult children. Made reservation online. Service was excellent, sat down in a comfy booth. Hibiscus tea and mimosas were good. Enjoyed my breakfast of scrambled eggs, potatoes and kale salad. Highly recommend.
