really good food and everything is gluten and dairy free
i got:
texas wagyu steak with potatoes
the steak was perfect, potatoes were okay, but everyone else thought they were amazing, so i’m just biased
the guac and chips were good too, i loved the pomegranate on the guac

Atmosphere, food, and service are all lovely. The place is so cozy and well decorated with dim lighting and cool art on the walls. The food is truly outstanding. Service the first time we went wasn’t so good, but was made up for in our next visit. Chelsea was so warm and personable and made our date night so special!

🧃 Critiquing with Chris: The Well — Austin, TX

Final Score: 1 out of 1 (aka the highest honor in the Chris Rating System)

Let me tell you something… The Well in Austin just healed my soul, my stomach, and probably 3 past mistakes.

I walked in hurting — like “why did I let the bartender talk me into that last tequila” hurting.
And The Well hit me with the best hangover cure on the planet:

🥣 Organic Pasture-Raised Chicken Bone Broth — warm, salty, comforting… like a hug from someone who actually texts back.
🥑 Perfectly Ripened Avocado — buttery, smooth, and basically the vitamin-rich apology my body needed.

Two sips and one bite later?
Boom — resurrected.
I officially went from “barely alive” to “ready to make questionable decisions in Austin again.”

So yeah… The Well gets a 1 out of 1, the rare perfect score, because they brought me back to life like a green-juice Jesus.

The well is an absolute go to for my daughter who has celiacs. Had her 23rd birthday there and she had a fabulous time. The servers could not be more gracious and the location could not be more relaxing.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Their beverages were boozy, food delicious and ambience just tied the bow on top. I will definitely be coming back again!

My favorite brunch restaurant in Austin, went before the University of Texas football game with my two adult children. Made reservation online. Service was excellent, sat down in a comfy booth. Hibiscus tea and mimosas were good. Enjoyed my breakfast of scrambled eggs, potatoes and kale salad. Highly recommend.

Wonderful selection of entrees and appetizers. The quality preparation comes through in every bite.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in town and go to spots. Foods consistently delicious and quality, and the decor / aesthetic is really nice. It's honestly perfect for every occasion from celebrating birthdays, hosting business meals, to date night.

All of our food was cold and had no taste. Way undersalted and overcooked. Service was okay.. kept putting our forks on the table after picking up our plates (instead of providing a small shareable plate).

It was wonderful to have a peace of mind while enjoying dinner at such a beautiful place. My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and the atmosphere was amazing. They are a fully gluten free kitchen, a celiacs heaven. And they even had GF sourdough and beer options that were very tasty. So happy to have found this gem in Austin
