I gave an overall 4 based off of 2 things, the food, and the super kind tall gentleman with glasses that brings out the food. Twice me and my boyfriend have been here and had the same bartender whom we felt was not very welcoming, and has given off the demeanor of rude or just disinterested in taking our orders. No one should have to wait over 30 min to get a soda. I had to flag her down last night when it was barely anyone in there! When she first came to take our drink order, when she brought the card back she didn’t hand it, she slammed it on the table and walked off. I waited to see if she would come back on her own to check on us, but I saw her talking to another customer laughing and being pleasant. When I waved for her attention when she got back to the bar, she came and her tone was completely different than how she was with the other customer she was previously talking to. It made me feel like I was bothering her. It’s already bad enough that anytime we’ve been here we are the only black ones there and get awkward looks. I don’t foresee us coming back here to dine, just to go orders from now on.

Expected more based on the descriptions on the menu. Not bad, but not good either.

The birria crunchwrap was huge, but felt like just eating 2 inches of ok-tasting meat. The "my girlfriend isn't hungry" platter is a great concept, but I found some of the portioning to be small for the items I really wanted (corn dip) and large for, of course, the cheaper items (fries).

I did really like the fried cauliflower, but I thought it was weird that the Buffalo sauce came on the side, so you had to dip once in that then once in the ranch - kinda messy.

Service was friendly but inconsistent. They would come by once, then disappear for a long time. I'd rather have a clear expectation that I either need to always go to the bar, or order from the QR code, or get table service. It was too sporadic to keep a good rhythm of drinks going.

Parking was also difficult. It seemed like we shouldn't park in the lot with Kerbey Lane and the other businesses, and parking by the bar was full, so we went across the street. We were trying to be safe so we had to walk quite a ways to the crosswalk to cross, so try to park closer to that if you can.

Overall not bad, and prices were decent, but it didn't seem to live up to what was presented on the website.

I've eaten here before and it was decent but this time was so memorable I have to leave a review. I ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce and my wife got a couple of birria tacos. The wings weren't cooked enough for the amount of fat on them and the sauce had no flavor at all. The guy next to me at the bar had a bunch of uneaten wings on his plate and as I was realizing how nasty they were, he nudged me and said "don't bother, they're gross". My wife choked down one taco and said it was disgusting and still being hungry, I ate the other one. I thought it was OK but wouldn't order another one. I know everyone has off-days but that meal put me off wings for a while, like I'm vurping just thinking about those non-rendered flavorless lumps. I don't recommend Thunder Chief for wings or tacos. Maybe burgers.
Lavaca Street is a great bar though...

Seriously guys !!! Adjust your toast clock to let people know you can’t handle volume. I was given a 45 pick up time but was told after arriving that it would be another 30 minutes because they were short staffed! 45 minutes later I’m still waiting for a salad and grilled cheese sandwich! It has been an hour and a half and no food !! ?
I will say though they did address the issue right away like true professionals!! That’s why they are my go to bar food spot !!

Probably the best smash burger Ive had. Perfectly caramelized yet still very juicy. Very simple but perfectly executed.

Vegetarian options: At least 1/4 of the menu has vegetarian options. And something in almost every category.

Dietary restrictions: Only a couple GF options and one vegan. Could possible modify one of the salads to remove or replace the protein.

Parking: There was parking to the side of the building. About 10 spots but it is shared with the other building opposite of the lot.

Kid-friendliness: Its a sports bar so its surrounded by TVs with multiple sports channels. If your kid is into sports this is a perfect place.

Wheelchair accessibility: The main entrance has stairs but it looks like a ramp goes to the other door. The isles are tight so seating will be very limited but near the window should accommodate.

Food is always on point! Great flavor with a chill atmosphere! My friends and I love coming here after a long work week to relax. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. My favorites for sure either have to be wings or the k-pop nachos! Love coming in when jayce is there! He makes awesome recommendations on what to grab! Especially when they are featuring new weekly flavors on the menu!

Thunder chief’s burgers are definitely some of the best in Austin. The wing are crispy and the sauces are all bomb. The staff is super friendly even when it gets crazy during ball games.

I don’t get the high rating. Maybe the flavoring is something younger people love; I tried a number things and only the chicken sandwich resonated. Over spiced on many other things, and the wings were so over fried, and extreme crisp, they got stuck in my teeth. Going to pass from now on.
