This was some of the worst service I have had in a really long time. The person making out sandwiches NEVER looked at us, got mad at us because we ordered our sandwiches separately. This was our first time here and didn't know. it was so loud you had to yell to place an order. Overall the person talking our order was just rude. Also the sandwich was ok definitely better places and service in the area.

Tried to charge me for a cup of water, "because of the high schoolers". I was already checked out fully when I asked, and as far as I am concerned, this is my line in the sand. Charging for water is the most stingy thing imaginable, and terrible service besides. I guess I just won't go to this location anymore.

Being new to Texas and craving a sandwich, I saw this place driving by and thought id try it. All the staff was super friendly and kind. The lady that made my sandwich offered great suggestions which made my Italian sandwich phenomenal! She threw in a carrot cake for me to try since I had ever been. Wow!! Absolutely amazing! I'll be back for both! Love supporting local especially when the experience is this great! Definitely recommend!

Every single time I visit Thundercloud Subs at Lake Austin I'm blown away with the customer service. Everyone is happy to be there and they have such great vibes. I've been during busy hours and when it's steady. Every time they never disappoint. I love all the armadillos everywhere and they always play soothing music. I truly appreciate the words of affirmation and works of art they add to your orders. Made my whole week! They really go above and beyond to make you feel special. My family and been going to Thunder Cloud on Lake Austin for over 30 years. We've always been satisfied with the subs, especially with the portions, but in the last year we've ordered our favorite, Chicken Salad sandwiches only to find out we're eating more bread than chicken salad. Very disappointed! ? I'm okay with the price going up, but come on don't skimp out on the main ingredient, Chicken salad was ours. We moved two years ago to Manchaca and hadn't eaten from Thunder Clouds in that time. Since I was in the neighborhood I stopped and bought four small sandwiches just find out it had little and I mean little chicken salad. ☹️Disappointed in Manchaca

The sandwiches were yummy but I didn’t like having to pay extra for pickles. Seems like a sandwich staple. Tomato, onion and lettuce are included, with condiments, all other toppings are extra.
