Great price for a kids meal and plenty filling. Fries were fresh and tasted great and the burgers were juicy and flavorful.
The guy at the counter was helpful and friendly too!

So we hit this burger stand with our vouchers after getting stuck at AUS for an extra 3.5 hours. Robert, the cashier was more than accommodating and very helpful making sure that our meals were covered correctly and exactly what we wanted. Jose was working on the grill and our order was served up quick. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak and it was perfect. My daughter ordered chicken tenders and practically inhaled them! The fries were great, not over seasoned as some places tend to do these days. Even after they closed Robert was still very helpful after my daughter threw my “to go bag” away stopping what he was doing and getting me another. With all the chaos of changed gates, messed up planes and altered flights/missed connections it was refreshing to have Robert and Jose be an oasis of calm. I don’t know if we will fly the same airline but flying out of AUS I’ll stop here again.

This review is for the budget conscious -
Airport food was always overpriced and now with food inflation it is even worse, especially when feeding three people. At twenty dollars per person, it ends up being sixty, and the food usually looks and tastes like it should cost about twenty total.
Enter Thurmans kids menu. Six dollars gets you a one quarter pound burger or two piece chicken tender with sauce plus fries. Ordering on the kiosk weirdly charges for sauces but ordering in person does not. The food was made fresh and actually tasted good. The ranch and honey mustard really hit the spot and the fries, cut big which is not usually my favorite style, tasted just fine with salt and ketchup.
Overall, I was glad to spend under twenty to feed the family with decent tasting food.

Super expensive for food that is sloppy and tasteless it took 20 mins to make A chicken sandwich and cheeseburger their fountain machine wasn’t working and the cook was on his phone for 10 minutes while the burgers were getting overcooked and they forgot to put special sauce on my burger even though I asked for it The food is way overcooked and doesn’t taste very good and it’s super sloppy and greasy wouldn’t recommend coming here.

Roberto and Jose squeezed our order in right before closing it’s late and we are having to deal with a flight delay! These people are so kind and doing the lords work on Labor Day! God bless! I would take a picture of the basket but we only left crumbs! Thank you!

After 14 hours in the air, two layovers, and a seatmate who snored like a chainsaw, I stumbled into AUS Airport feeling like a crumpled boarding pass. My stomach was growling louder than the jet engines, and I had zero expectations for airport food—until I saw the glowing sign for Thurman’s Old-Fashioned Burger near Gate 21.
I ordered the Signature Cheeseburger, which comes stacked with two juicy ¼ lb patties and a slice of cheese tucked right in the middle like a secret handshake from Texas. The seasoning? Bold. The bun? Soft and warm. The fries? Crispy salvation. It wasn’t just a meal—it was a redemption arc.
That burger didn’t just satisfy my hunger. It restored my faith in airport dining and gave me the strength to face the final leg of my journey. If you ever find yourself weary and wandering through Austin’s terminals, Thurman’s might just save your day too.

Tried at the Airport, Couldn’t Even Finish It was awful, expensive waste.
The burger was dry, flavorless, and fell apart almost immediately. I had to stop eating halfway, it just wasn’t enjoyable at all. The fries looked interesting (more like thick potato wedges), but they didn’t taste like much, no seasoning, no crispness, just bland.
I noticed others eyeballing their burgers as well and throwing them away without finishing. Super disappointing.
Photos show how it started… and how it ended.

It was an expensive burger (relatively) but the 1lb burger was amazing, I slept on the 3.5hour flight. Will definitely try this tasty burger and day sleep in the future (I'll be back).

The staff was friendly. The burger was a good size. It had no flavor but the ranch made it ok.

I ordered a cheeseburger (burger has 2 patties) which comes with potato wedges; the drink is separate. My husband ordered a burger plain with an extra patty. My order was correct and his order was covered in cheese. We didn't have time to order a new one so he scraped the cheese off. I say if you like things plain and you're with someone do your order separately. Also it seemed like the burger order is the longest item to make so if you're in a hurry order something else. Other than the order mix up the food was really good.

I should have read the reviews first. Sloppily made breakfast sandwich. I was the only order, so they weren't rushed. And, the manager was right there when it was put at the counter. 4/7/25 @ 730am.

Terrible. Cheesesteak was $18, and it was dry with no flavor. But the bun was a soggy mess (help me understand that). The “fries”, if you can call them that, were cold in the middle. Thirsty? Water is $5.75, yet sugar filled soda is only $3.75. Literally 5 employees standing around doing nothing. Sick of airport prices with crappy food.
