I really wanted to give this place a fair shot, but after three visits, they're officially O for 3.
Every time the service has been poor, and the food has come out incorrectly cooked. On our most recent visit, they completely forgot our order after we had already waited about 40 minutes. After reminding them, we then waited another 20 minutes—even after closing out— and still ended up paying for the meal. I even tipped 20% because that's just how I operate.
What's most frustrating is that there was no real effort to make it right. No attempt to take care of anything on the table, no meaningful apology-just an excuse that they have a new cook.
There are plenty of better places to spend your time and money. I won't be back. Pretty pissed

The meal was fantastic. We started with Atlantic oysters and this scallop special they were featuring with citrus sections, browned butter and candied pecans.. just perfect. So good. Then we split the TLC boil with Cajun spice. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The bottle of Albariño we ordered paired super well. This place has the best seafood boil I've had in Austin. The only knocks I can give: the space is a little echoey, and the scallops were $40 for just 3 scallops and no sides— while they were the best thing I ate that night, I just felt like the price was high. But— go here. Truly. Fun atmosphere, kind servers, delicious food.
The food was outstanding. We had Hushpuppies, bacon wrapped shrimp, and the red fish. I would recommend all three of these dishes.
It took 20 mins to get one of the multiple bartenders to pour me a beer. I could ignore that and not even leave this review, if it weren't for the extremely rude bartender with face tats. He acted like I was such an inconvenience to him and I wasn't even being pushy to get his attention. I live in Lamar Union so this is a very convenient bar for me but I won't be back because of the terrible service

We loved the mussels, french fries, and the gumbo but the shrimp cocktail was a miss! Pure horseradish. Horseradish on the side would be better.

Today, I dined at TLC for the second time and had a horrible experience with the bartender, Sam. My first time eating here was great, but this time I had a very different experience. The food was great, but the drinks were subpar and tasted incorrectly made. The bartender, Sam, who served me, was extremely rude and inattentive. The drinks were inconsistent and did not taste good. I don’t recommend dining with Sam, but rather with a server, or ANY OTHER bartender. His hospitality did not encourage me to return to this establishment.
Wonderful date night and great service. Our server had great recommendations as it was our first time visiting.
Great happy hour! However the website is deceptive. It hasn't been updated for a long time and drinks are much more expensive than advertised.
Wasn't expecting a $72 steak with the vegetables not quite cooked all the way

Not sure why people like to eat this seafood or even call it a 'boil'. It tastes boiled or even microwaved with no seasoning. From lobster and dungeness crab all the way down the line to shrimp and clams.....just flat out bland and fishy. Spent almost $200 on something that was completely underwhelming. Plates and utensils arrived dirty, service not that attentive. Could have easily walked the bill with no refills on refreshments. Will not be back.

We ordered the gulf oysters, the TLC signature boil, fried okra, and hushpuppies. All were outstanding. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. TLC has consistently been a favorite of my family over many years.
Excellent gumbo, decent seasoning, family friendly. Clean and open atmosphere

I can’t recommend TLC enough! Every time my dad is in town, we make it a point to visit because their dollar oysters by the dozen are unbeatable. The ambiance is always fun, funky, and festive, especially during the holiday season, making the experience even more enjoyable.
In addition to the oysters, we absolutely love the appetizers, especially the bacon-wrapped shrimp and the hush puppies. The rotating drink specials are always a treat; today, I enjoyed a White Christmas Margarita that was delicious.
A special shoutout to our server, Angel, who was incredibly attentive, sweet, and patient with my dad throughout our meal.
And as an extra magical experience, during our last visit, I found four pearls in one of my oysters! That made our Christmas Eve truly unforgettable.
If you love oysters and seafood boils, TLC is the place to go year-round!

The holiday decor was extravagant and exactly what we wanted to get into the mood. Causal, fun place with games around. Top notch food, bar created excellent cocktails, and service was both comfortable and attentive. Highly recommend.
