I enjoyed this food more than my trip to Canje. Oxtails were tender, coated with sauce and incredibly flavorful. Beef patty, although more closely resembling a large empanada, was stuffed with beef and had a pastry that was also super flavorful and flaky. Peas and rice under the oxtails slapped. Plantains were the perfect sweet bite in between to break up all the rich flavors. 10/10 recommend.

Delicious. Got the chicken, asada, and pork tacos and was delighted with the mix of flavors and ingredients in and garnishing the tacos. The guy working there was wonderful too. Definitely will be back and them being open until 2:00 AM will help with that.

Wow, what a beautiful experience. I literally searched in my phone for oxtails, and this beautiful entity popped up. I’m so grateful because not only was the food immaculate, but also the service was welcoming and warming. I can truly tell from every single bite I tasted that the food was prepared and cooked with intentionality and love. I pray Trap House continues to thrive and establishes itself as a strong Caribbean cuisine restaurant here in Austin because we truly need it. 5 stars, 10 out of 10, all of that and so much more <3

I love this place. It allows me to get some of my favorite foods all in one place but sometimes when I go there there’s nobody at the front counter to take my order. It’s just open lol I took my friend there yesterday to try to get her some oxtail empanadas and no one was there to service. It was just open

I was in town for the evening and decided to stop by the lively musical artistic restaurant. When you go in there is a menu with items to order. We were informed of specials they have. Ordered the loaded mac and cheese with jerk chicken and lamb and rice with curry. The person taking the order was informative and told us of the favorites because it was our first time. Vibes and food and service was great;delicious fulfilling food. Will definitely come back when I am in town

THE BEST BEEF PATTYS IVE EVER HAD! Everything here was seasoned and cooked perfectly with huge portions. Even if you’ve never had Jamaican food, anything you get here will be so delicious. From the music to the juices, we couldn’t love this place more. This is going on our list of go to restaurants in Austin.

We had lunch here yesterday. When I walked through the doors, I knew I had embarked on a good time. The food and service did not disappoint. I had the curried lamb plate with cabbage and plantains. I also tried the beef phatty and a vegetarian phatty as well. The spice level was on point! The food was piping hot and very savory. Can’t wait to visit the area again. This will surely be one of my stops when I want Caribbean food. Great choice!

Delicious and super nice staff. I was visiting from CA where tacos are very inexpensive so the prices at Trap House seemed high but after walking around the area they were actually about the same as the other places (and the other places I tried were not good). A nearby slice of pizza was $7 so I think Austin is simply just a little more expensive. Having said that, the food here was really really good and well worth the price. Next time I'm in Austin I'll probably eat lunch here everyday. Seriously. I'm craving the tostones right now. And I don't know their name but the employee with the great hair was super nice. Most people nowadays seem frustrated by any customer with any questions but they had an authentic smile the whole time they dealt with me. It was refreshing and made the whole experience very nice. Thanks

Being from the islands and be served an empanada instead of a patty is wild, please fix the wording on your menu , being charged $8 for something so tiny is ridiculous. Yuca Fries were tasty
