I wish they did not change their recipes. Back then they had one of the best crab rangoons it was crunchy and savory. Now it’s a weird shape and sweet. I miss the old recipes…I hope one day they can consider bringing the old one back. We have been going there for many years. Sometimes change isn’t good. Old traditional ways are the best.

Takeout: 1)beef was contaminated with strong fish flavor from failing to clean previous prepared dish. 2) steamed rice was burnt patches 3) inconsistent servings in 4 different same size containers. 1 was only half filled, as if someone cut out portion for their break. 4) prepared quality was erratic, as though cooked by 4 different beginner cooks.The most terrible food served in years. Never again!

Got take-out last week. How did two entrees and a couple of side items for lunch cost $57 before tip? (Apr 2024)Yes, beef has gotten expensive, but we didn't order beef. I got a tofu dish and she got chicken.Fire Bowl has similar dishes, but the cost is much lower. Sorry Twin Lion... I've ordered your food for decades, but price gouging isn't appreciated.

I would go out of my way to come to this part of Austin for this restaurant for the past 15 years. I have not visited for some time, but I'm guessing it's new management now. The sesame chicken is no longer crispy and saucy-sweet. It's light breading is soft and tastes like a chain restaurant down the street. It's just ok, but not worth making a special trip for anymore.

Great food and portions at reasonable prices. The menu is so well put together. The ambiance transports you although sometimes they play modern radio music. The staff is very attentive and pleasant.I am glad this place is near my neighborhood!Vegetarian options: Home style fried tofu spicy.

Edit: Ate here all the time over the past 20 years. Recently they changed ownership and the food changed with it. They used to have a very crispy sesame chicken that was the best in Austin, Now it’s basically what you find at any Chinese restaurant. Sad to see it has changed after being a staple in north Austin for the last 20+ years. Why not keep the original recipes???
I don't usually take the time to rate places, but Twin Lion is hands down the best Chinese Take out food in Austin. Big portions and it's delicious. A1 fasho. Curry combination rice with the wonderful chicken.
